I'm going to try for the first column and use all books I own. But, I might try 5 random and substitute 4a1 with 5 and 2c since I have lots of books on those shelves.

b1 - Canadian:
Fifth Business
Henderson the Rain King
The Blind Assassin

4a1 - Portuguese:
The Book of Disquiet

E - Greek, Roman, and Modern Greek :
The Iliad and the Odyssey
Zorba the Greek

4b03 - Brazilian:
Gabriela, Clove and Cinnamon by Jorge Amado

Questions -
What are unknown authors male and female? If they are unknown, how do you now if they are male or female?
What is the difference between choice and free?

message 4: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 2204 comments I take the unknown authors to mean authors you haven't read before. ?

You are correct Kathy.

Your choice is choose any shelf.
Free space is whatever you want or they both mean the same thing! lol

Thanks Kathy and Lesle! I thought unknown might mean anonymous.

message 7: by ForestGardenGal (last edited Dec 14, 2023 08:14PM) (new)

ForestGardenGal | 232 comments Hmmm, if it's anonymous how can we tell if it is female or male?

Also, Rafael- I noticed that 4 books appear in z-western, and 61 books appear in z-frontier-westerns. Was that intentional or should they be combined?

To defend Rafael this actually was not his fault or doing.
He inherited a mess and has been working on it diligently!

Thanks, but the odds are stacked against me since I don't read Russian novels and certain other things, but we'll see how it goes! It's possible I'll get 5 random squares with the free space, because with that I have 4 now.

You could always try a short story by a Russian author.

Yes, of course--I am so used to being in a group (the first one I ever joined on Shelfari because I learned about it from a FB friend) where 150 pages is the minimum that I often forget that we don't have to do that here!

Glad to help remind that most of our challenges and reading do not have to follow a page count.

If 6 pages fit it is good to go!!
