I just finished Verne’s Around the World in Eighty Days. Now I’m reading Eighty Days - about 2 women reporters who made the trip. And in this title it mentions Joseph Pulitzer, and I've been wanting to read about.

Now I’m wondering why I’ve never done a Reading Chain before!? I think I’ll try it; I’m curious to see where the literary thread takes me and how many titles I’ll connect. :D

Clever concept! I’ve had this happen with my personal nonfiction reading-read a lot of American and European history, which made me want to read Chinese history, then Indian history, African history, etc…the further you dig, the more you find!

Yes, this has happened with me in my reading. It's a fascinating concept with one book leading to another.

I often choose the next book I read from association with the last book I read. I don't always read the second book immediately, but it is still almost always meaningful to me and a deeper experience than reading in an "unattached" way. Not sure I understand the reading chain: does a word in the first title have to lead to a word in the next title or can the association be broader? Sounds like fun, either way.

No, I misunderstood the premise and was thinking about an old thread game called Word Golf where the words had to be related in some way. This Chain idea is more like the research rabbit hole Abigail mentioned. Much more educational that way. ;)
