Tell us about a book character who reminds you of yourself or a character with whom you identify, and why. Please include the character's name, book title, & author's name.

Cheryl (cherylllr) | 357 comments One part of me is like one part of Ofelia, from Remnant Population by Elizabeth Moon. I would certainly do whatever I could to stay behind on the planet alone, unburdened by that family.

I'm also a bit like Meg in Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, as I'm the oldest and feel the need to be the most responsible, the most devoted and dutiful.

I find myself identifying with Irene in the Invisible Library books by Genevieve Cogman. I'm an archivist/librarian, so collecting and protecting books seems natural. Like Irene, I'm not an expert in everything, so I rely on the expertise of people around me to get through any sticky situations.

Dawn (caveatlector) | 216 comments The narrator of the book Motherhood by Sheila Heti.

It was one of those books that I read at the right time in my life. It is a story about a women deciding if she wants kids, it covers a period of a few years and all the situations and people that influence her decision. I identified with almost everything she was going through.

Cheryl (cherylllr) | 357 comments That sounds interesting. Most of us, I think, spend far too little time thinking about it.
