While I adored Gone Girl, this story fell short of my expectations. It was a decent read, just not exceptional.

Though I didn't share the revulsion some readers felt, the violence, especially towards children, was a bit much for me. It made it hard to immerse myself in the story. Nevertheless, the curiosity about the culprit kept me turning the pages. Some twists were predictable, but the author still managed to catch me off guard with a few.
