I liked the dog, but otherwise really didn't enjoy this book.

The author explores his own (or I assume his own) philosophy of life through a group of weak and unlikable characters. I found myself rolling my eyes and heaving deep sighs throughout.

I rarely say this about any book, but the movie was much better.
