Camille is a reporter for a Chicago paper. When two young girls are snatched and killed in Camille's hometown she is sent there to report on it. Camille hasn't been back for a long time and isn't sure she wants to return. Camille and her mother have a difficult relationship and rarely have any contact. Returning to her hometown and staying in her family home Camille finds herself once again drawn into strange occurrences in town and difficult circumstances with her family.

Sharp objects is a dark and creepy read. There are many twists and turns some I saw coming and many that took me completely by surprise. I enjoyed the book, but some may find it too dark.

I agree with you, I don’t know why Camille would want to return to her hometown and stay with her mother, If she had to go home for the story there had to be somewhere to stay nearby. It was a good book, I enjoyed it too but agree that it was dark and disturbing.
