Personality: Rowan is as sweet and kind as they come. She has a heart of pure gold and a mind as innocent as an angel's. She talks with a slight stutter that gets progressively worse as she gets more nervous or scared and her eyes have a constant sad look in them that she doesn't like to talk about.
She is going through severe grief due to the loss of both her parents [one to death and one to alcohol] and talks in a very quiet soft voice. She loves to laugh, though she hasn't in a while, and enjoys helping others any way that she can. She loves animals, especially foxes, and spends her time exploring the woods behind her house. Rowan isn't one for teasing, since she can never tell if someone is joking and so takes everything they say to heart, and she hates fighting or raised voices.
History: Rowan's home was broken into one night when she was nine years old. The robber had climbed into her room through her bedroom window and was attempting to steal her jewelry when Rowan woke up and screamed for her parents. Her father rushed in, but the robber had a gun and shot Fabian in the chest three times, then escaped out the window.
He was never caught.
Fabian died that night in Rowan and her mother's arms.
Rowan was mentally ruined after that. She couldn't stop smelling his blood and hearing the gunshots every night for a year.
One night Rowan discovered something about herself.
She had a tail.
And ears.
And claws.
Like a fox.
When she concentrated hard enough she could fully transform.
She figured this out after sneezing super loudly and scaring herself badly. The new appendages just popped out!
After this, Rowan started spending more and more time by herself in the woods with other animals.
Her mother had started drinking now and it was bad.
She blamed Rowan for Fabian's death and was constantly hitting her after having too much to drink.
Rowan hated it, and one day decided to move to the Academy to both escape her mother and learn more about controlling her power.

Backstory- Oleander is the child of two vampires, who live in a large abandoned mansion five miles away from any civilization. She grew up dividing her time between her parents, who hate each other, and can’t stand being in the same room as the other. They used to be lovers, but vampires are made for solitude and they eventually grew apart. Oleander’s mother is cruel and calculating; she loves manipulation and torture. It’s all part of her games. She loves having human servants, and enjoys punishing them when they fail her impossible tasks. Oleander’s father is addicted to human blood, and he likes it fresh. He uses it as a form of punishment for his servants, prefering a more physical kind of torture. As a result, Oleander grew up in an environment of fear, and suffering from her mother’s mind games. Oleander’s name came from her mother’s love of the plant. She has an entire garden dedicated to the plant. She named Oleander this, thinking it symbolic that the plant is beautiful, but a single leaf is so toxic it can kill an adult.

Ariella has the strange ability to pull shadows of demons from their own realm, and manipulate them to a certain extent. However, they hate to be controlled, which is what resulted in the number of scars she bears on her arms. If she keeps the shadows in her world for too long, portals begin to open up, and the demons will drag themselves through and wreak havoc.
Personality~
Ariella has always seen herself as an outcast, never to fit in anywhere. Her wings and skin tone are a dead giveaway to the fact that she’s a mistake, and they are impossible to hide. She tends to be on the quieter side, though a few things bring her out of her shell. She is a very caring individual, and hates to see others hurt in any way, partly because of her own trauma.

Due to her backstory, Ariella tends to have some trouble making connections to others, for fear of losing or hurting them. She can also be callous sometimes, killing brutally or coldly in order to protect herself or others. In this sense, sometimes she struggles with a sort of multiple personality disorder.
Backstory~
When Arielle was five, she was forced to watch her mother’s execution, which was postponed until she was old enough to remember its effects. Her father attempted to bring her back to his own people, but they rejected her, attacking her like savages. Her father lives once more with that community, not even able to look at his daughter because of her resemblance to her mother, and because he believes he cursed her by falling in love in the first place. Her strange powers only add to her pain, because they manifested at a young age, and she wasn’t able to control them. The shadows would turn on her and attack, leaving behind gaping wounds. She would summon them in her sleep, while having nightmares, and wake up to one as well. Without anyone to teach her how to use them, she has struggled to gain every bit of control she has, and rarely uses her powers. She travels from place to place, never staying for long and doing odd jobs. Once, in a town she stayed in, she was able to learn how to defend herself through hand-to-hand combat and use weapons. The man who taught her had found her starving in a gutter not long after leaving her father’s homeland. He took care of her, and taught her what she needed to know to survive, knowing she couldn’t stay with him and his family. She left after a few months, with supplies, weapons, and the knowledge she needed to survive. Arielle faces prejudice and scorn wherever she goes, through verbal and physical abuse. She tries to keep a low profile due to this, in order to avoid conflict. She still travels from towns to villages, forgoing connections and fighting to stay alive.
