Do you follow any Book Tok accounts, or Instagram Book accounts? Do you have either of these of your own?

I am not on Tik Tok, but I love Instagram. I have thought about a Bookstagram, but it would be all stills, no videos, pretty boring, so that won't be happening.

I do follow a few on IG but can't find their handles right now. Also a few local libraries and bookstores.

Barb in Maryland | 661 comments No, I don't follow any on either platform. I am probably missing several good books that way. But I have found more than enough books by other means (GR friend reviews, for one) to have amassed a TBR the size of Everest!
I do have bookmarked several publisher websites and author blogs--always a good source for upcoming books. Also, Shelf Awareness does a weekly book review/round-up of new books via an e-mail newsletter.

I found Shelf Awareness on IG and followed them just now, also subscribed to that newsletter. Thanks Barb!

I did follow Jack Edwards for a while on You tube. Initially I found his enthusiasm very endearing & he was writing & travelling at the same time - so really living the dream. But after a while he seemed to be skimming rather than reviewing books - & some of his sponsors were a bit dubious. I tried a couple of others that were active on Gr at the time, (edit a few years ago) but didn't warm to them - I would rather read a book review than listen to it.

I don't really do social media other than ŷ. I might get an Instagram account next year though.

Is Bookstagram a separate site?

Yes, I really don't need any more book recommendations!

No, that's just a nickname. I don't follow reviewers for recs, just authors and funny reviewers. One is @stone4031 she's an author of romcoms, which I don't read, but she's funny.

Tania | 138 comments I don't use tik tok, but I do follow a few bookish channels on youtube. Miranda Mills read a lot of books that would fit into this group (she used to work at the Persephone Bookshop), and I enjoy some of her videos, Lil's Vintage world is another good one, she reads and reviews a lot of Furrowed Middlebrow and Golden Age mysteries.

On Instagram I really like oldbookdreamer, she has lots of beautiful, often quite obscure vintage novels; in fact, last night I started Fingle-Fangle, which she read recently, and I subsequently found on the Internet Archive.

Wow, I can smell the old book smell just looking at her collection!

Tania | 138 comments She certainly has a beautiful collection. One of the few accounts where I frequently see books I'm completely unaware of. She is to bookstagram what Scott at the Furrowed Middlebrow blog is to blogs.

I managed to have a quick peek at oldbookdreamer, before they wanted a sign in. Funnily enough Fingle-fangle is the cover I was drawn to.

Let us know if it was a (heh!) good read!

Tania | 138 comments It was the cover that drew mw in. So far it seems quite fun.

Susan in NC (susanncreader) | 2014 comments I don’t use TikTok, but am on instagram and youtube -thanks for these potential book sources, though like Barb and Carol, I’ve already got a tbr I’ll never finish! ;o)

I'm a ŷ librarian & I was able to add covers for both publishers. I've also put up a short bio for him. Not much info about him but from what there was, he sounds like an interesting man.

I forgot that I was on Tumblr!

I'm not there for books/reading so much. (although I do follow a couple of people who add quotes)

What I joined for has mostly vanished, but I'm still there for kitten & Marilyn Monroe pictures!
