In this suspense novel, Nora is contacted by her half brother, Sam, about their father's death. Liam Noone had been a successful hotel builder until he had a fatal fall at his California home. Although the police think it was an accident, Sam and Nora suspect that Liam had been pushed and investigate who could have done that.

As they talk to people and look for clues, Nora and Sam learn things about Liam that he had kept private. Liam was secretively seeing someone for 50 years and he had plans for his business that were not discussed with his children. Nora and Sam's relationships with others are also described. Nora is dating a chef and they are growing apart, while Sam becomes engaged to someone who may not be right for him.

Although their father had kept them at a distance while they were growing up, Liam's children get to know him better as they search for information. They find some surprises and look for connections. Along the way Nora and Sam also build a bond and examine their own lives. I enjoyed this story.
