OOP books descriptions being replaced with librarian note??

So shouldn't default description be set instead of a librarian entered note that it was removed from publication? That would have taken care of an edition with a blank description field.

I also find a lot more odd about this situation...
Fun bloody times.

Edit: Forgot that you have to edit the description *again* after using the default for it to stay. They should all be ok now.

I've run into this same problem, where I KNOW I didn't change a book's description, but the change log says I replaced a good description with the book's condition. (The bug appeared for this book, in change ID #859470010: /book/edits/247925 .)
I reported this problem to staff, over a month ago. I haven't heard anything back yet, and there's no change to the bad description or the incorrect change log. Even worse, the change log now shows that I made two different changes to the description, both invalid/against GR standards. I would NEVER make this type of change. But I have no proof -- only my word.
I'm upset that this bug is slandering my librarian reputation. Also, since this problem seems to happen often, I wonder what happens if we don't notice and report all the bad change log entries? Will staff use this bug to remove our librarian privileges with no chance of appeal?

I checked a few other books and more of them had this missing while there should be always something the system sets as the default description if it is not set by someone.

Thanks for getting a description back and confirming there hasn't been a bizarre policy change that I didn't hear about. Guess chaos really is the new normal. Seems to get worse year after year. Good luck sorting out the log misinformation, expect you're going to need all you can get. :)
???
When did replacing the description field of valid out of print books with a note saying they are out of print become policy?
And for the record, CreateSpace was owned by Amazon from 2005 onward and they simply merged it into their KDP platform in 2018 and stopped using the CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform imprint name going forward.
I don't understand what is happening with the book database here, it's like I've stepped into some dystopian alternate universe where chaos is the norm.
