Moana (mixedmesages) | 2 comments I have been, somehow, part of this group for I-don’t-even-know how long, but I have never spent enough regular time on Good Reads to get conversational.

In the last five years or so, my life has been pretty extensively restructured, largely for the better, and I have significantly more time and freedom to not only read more consistantly but also to engage with folks about what I am reading.

I’m shifting my focus back to being a committed reader, and thought I’d get better acquainted with the parts of Good Reads that I have not played with before.

And lo and behold: You are reading Cloudstreet! Of all things, Cloudstreet. One of my very favorite books from so long ago that I’m almost afraid to pull it off the shelf and reread it, lest it not live up to my fond memories.

It’s off the shelf. I’ve literally blown the dust off. I am genuinely excited.

And a bit shy. So this is me saying hello, and I hope you all will not mind my jumping in. I could really use a good, bookish space as I’m facing down this next season.

Ahh, the Pickles and the Lambs.

Barbara | 8142 comments A big welcome from me too, Moana! I felt that same shyness when I first posted on Constant Reader many years ago. But, happily, it’s a great book community and I’ve been here ever since.

Moana (mixedmesages) | 2 comments Oh, thank you for saying hello! I’m sprawled in the (rare this season) sunny spot on my landing, making progress on Cloudstreet and telling my sun-starved brain that there will just be a few more years of January.
