Sarah-Vanessa | 272 comments Has anyone started this yet? I‘m having it as an audio.

Weapons
So far not that much to say yet. I liked how the different characters got introduced. I‘m not yet sure about them, but some seem rather not to be too kind of people. Especially Parisa and Callum are not my cup of tea. And I find the dynamics between Libby and Nico rather annoying and a little bit childish. Bettin on that in the end these two become lovers. Definitely find Atlas hilarious. But I‘m intrigued to find out more about their mission or what they signed up for.

This has been on my tbr so long that I don't even remember the synopsis.. I'm just hoping that I'll continue reading it now that I started it.

So, I haven't gotten that far into Libby's chapter when I noticed that my audiobook and ebook are not the same.. ??? In the audiobook there's the part about her parents in the audience and her boyfriend but in the book I don't have that only her and Nico bickering. I agree with you, if they don't end up together I don't know what... but those are the vibes.

Finished the first part, and yeah there's not much to say since we are just getting to know our characters. It has something that I can't put into words that makes me think I'll like the book.

Sarah-Vanessa | 272 comments @mina My audiobook and ebook both have the part with the parents in the audience.
So excited to read it with you. It has been on my tbr for a while as well. Yeah Libby and Nico are giving enemies to lovers vibes.

Truth
Well we basically still don’t know more about what they’re going to do for Atlas. But we got to know a little bit about Nico and his friends, which was really nice. So far it’s a slow paced read, focusing on getting to know the characters.

And I‘m sorry but what is Parisas agenda with Dalton. I have to say I kind of dislike her.

I was pretty sure I posted a comment and not just thought about doing it.
I'm going to be a bit behind. I jumped on a buddy read and the book is easy and a fast read so I'm planning on finishing it now so that I can just read Atlas after that.

Sarah-Vanessa | 272 comments @mina no worries I also don’t think I will have a lot of time next week to keep up with this one, besides my other buddy read.

Space
Nico - We thought there's going to be something between Libby and Nico... but what are the thoughts on Nico and Gideon? They are friends but reading the chapter where Gideon and he meet after G's mother has visited Nico... just gives me a bit more vibes.

Parisa - Some mysteries are solved. Now we know what happened in the battle with Callum. And to be honest, I'm not surprised.

Sarah-Vanessa | 272 comments @Mina I‘m a little bit behind due to a busy work schedule. But I did manage „Space“ Well I still really can’t grasp Nico, is it Libby, is it Reina and I definitely got some Gideon vibes as well.
Tristan seems like a nice guy but I don’t know if sticking to Callum is the way to go. Callum really gives me the creeps, his magic seems scary and after finding out what he did during the battle and how he didn’t care I don’t know, he’s one to stay away from.

Parisa I‘m torn.. What does she want with Dalton? What is her mission?

The encounter between Reina and Aiya was also super interesting, she seemed way too surprised that Dalton chose an academic career. I wonder what’s going on with him and his motives.

No worries. I'm wasn't reading it every day, and plus I started the TOG books too, but since I'm not doing anything at work I'm reading a bit.

Currently I'm on Time, 3rd cap , Parisa. If I don't forget I'll write some thoughts when I'm at home.

Time, Parisa chapter - Oooookay, I'm now highly intrigued by what happened when she went into Dalton's subcontious or what ever it was... like, he has no idea what's going on. And I find it interesting that she thinks he's not whole... I wonder why is that; is it because he became a member of the society or was it like a precaution of the society now that he was their member?

Either way, I think I'm interested in Dalton's character. Aiya mentioned that he's a modern myth in his country so yeah... that's interesting and I hope we get more on it. Also, I just CAN'T stop imagining Dalton as some old guy... which he probably isn't but yeah.

Thoughts
- Ezra just feels like a character that's there because we need a little obstacle.
- Parisa is so cunning, and I love it. From all the characters I think I'm starting to like her the most, which isn't much buuuut. Also the way she played Callum in the test who of them is better.. perfect. And I agree with you Callum is creepy which makes me think a bit... what if Dalton was like Callum now, or something similar, and the society "fixed" him that's why he's "missing a part of himself"

Sarah-Vanessa | 272 comments I‘m somewhere in the middle of the Thought chapter.
@Mina I‘m curious as well what’s going on with Dalton, there seems to be some sort of mystery around him.
Ezra just needs to be cancelled Let’s move on from that guy. I definitely like the idea of Tristan and Libby. And I love that she stepped over her comfort zone with him and Parisa. I just wish she could play less victim and be more confident. She sometimes gets on my nerves. I also sense something between Tristan and Callum, especially from Callum‘s side. Although one never knows with him, as he used to play games and definitely trying to manipulate Tristan to be on his side.

And what exactly happened to Nico and Libby hating eachother. That dynamic sort of changed very quickly.
Yes agreed Parisa is also starting to grow on me. Loved how she played Callum.

Yeah, I like the idea of Tristan and Libby too.
Uuu, interesting I didn't get any vibes Callum-Tristan. We'll see.

Maybe it's because some days passed in between my reading, but I don't really remember that they had interactions. She helped him with the pipes, there was a bit of their old dynamic but yeah. I have a thought about them.. what if in the end all six of them join the society and no one has to get killed because as it was a few times mentioned Libby and Nico are like a set, it would be stupid to separate them, and they can work as one very powerful person.

I just sat down to continue reading it, maybe even finishing it, but I had to comment first.

Sarah-Vanessa | 272 comments @Mina I feel there were small hints from Callums side, but they’re not really reciprocated by Tristan.

No Libby and Nico didn’t have any interactions lately. It just popped up in my head randomly, that they’re working together, she gets jealous of him training with Reina, their feud doesn’t really get mentioned anymore, but maybe just because there are more important things to worry about.

I love your idea about Libby and Nico counting as one person. That would be awesome. I don’t want anyone to die honestly.

Still somewhere on the THOUGHTS part.
- For a moment I thought Tristan saw Gideon in that other plane he was, but surprise it's Ezra.. And Ezra recognizes his name. Why is that I wonder. Did Libby tell him about Tristan.. why? Or did Tristan also time travel to some future where Ezra knew about them.

- HA.. now I see why you said there's some thing between Callum and Tristan.

INTENT Part
-"Very common that a curse will follow genealogy in someway or be passed on to progeny. That sort of magic is much more complex than it seems; anything with such lasting consequences requires a certain degree of sacrifice and loss to the caster.
Is the society under a curse? and then that's why they have to sacrifice someone.
- I feel bad for Libby. Everyone knows someone has to die, that's the elimination of the sixth is how the others join, and she's just living in ignorance.
- Emmm, what did just happen with Tristan? Was the convo he had with Callum real, or did it happen in one of the other realms. I'm assuming the thing he wrote on the paper is like a talisman, but I'm confused.
- Atlas visiting Ezra... the chapter is too short for me to think anything. This is also where I'm stopping for today, but I'm probably going to finish the book tomorrow.

😂 I have to ask, did you connect that the names of the parts Time, Space, Thoughts, Intent were the topics they were studying in that moment? I didn't pay attention to what they were studying because I felt they didn't have a particular curriculum. But in thoughts I caught it but wasn't sure, but in the last chapter of intent Tristan mentioned they are researching that so... that's interesting.
Also, how Callum chapter of Intent ended isn't surprising if you think about it a bit.

Sarah-Vanessa | 272 comments @Mina no honestly I didn’t notice that. I wasn’t focusing on the topics they study.

I‘m just at where Tristan met Ezra. That was a really odd encounter. Was Ezra really looking at his apartment or stalking Libby? He obviously knew who Tristan was, why? Who told him when or did Tristan travel in time? As Ezra asked him are you a traveler as well, I suppose they have the power to travel time But I recall not knowing that about Ezra Was his power mentioned before? I also think Libby doesn’t know about it. Will comment on the other points you wrote as soon as I‘m there in the book.

-.- I was writing my thoughts as I was reading the chapters, and when I'm on the last chapter what do I accidentally do? I click somewhere which turns out to be a link that takes me to another page... and all the things that I typed just *poof* So I guess I'm gonna go back and try remembering what I said/thought but not with so much detail.

Finished!

Sarah-Vanessa | 272 comments @mina So sorry, had some other reads to finish, but finally finished this one today. Well here are my thoughts

The book so far was ok, it’s a solid 3 star. Personally it was a little bit too long winded with not enough action for me. It’s rather an intellectual and slightly philosophical read, which I definitely enjoyed for once, but it was too long with not enough happening. That’s why it’s just 3 and not 4 or 5 for me, I definitely enjoyed the writing style and words used, as well as the character building which was excellent.

In terms if the stories, I started guessing Ezra being involved in Libby‘s disappearance, but not Ezra and Atlas having some sort of connection. So that definitely was an unexpected turn. But in the end that plot could have been told under 300 pages. Still I want to know how the story proceeds.

Sarah-Vanessa | 272 comments I‘ll try to hop onto the second book,, maybe end of the month, if I manage My TBR is so long this month 🙈

Hey.. yeah, we can start it tomorrow :D
The schedule may not be the best but we also probably won't follow it. It's around 25-30 pages a day...after the first part

Sarah-Vanessa | 272 comments @Mina Perfect! I think we can just read in the space we manage. Thanks for the schedule.

Sarah-Vanessa | 272 comments Beginning - Daze
I‘m looking forward to the second book. I listened to the first one as an audiobook in German. But as I‘m doing my Buddy Read Babel as an audiobook I started with the book version of this one. It’s in English and I get to understand quickly it’s not the simplest English for someone who isn’t native in English 🙈. I might have to switch to the German audiobook. But besides that I‘m excited. I need them to find Lizzy.

If you haven't been reading a lot in English it can be a bit too much. I'm not native to English either but since I started expanding to reading in English, because the choices left in Serbian were not that great or things I didn't want to read, it got easier and now I'm more comfortable with English written things than Serbian ones.

I started it a few days ago but haven't gone past the Reyna chapter in Initiates. Now I'm gonna try and read a chapter or two.

Intitiates
Reyna
: This is an interesting test or whatever it is.. to see how they see each other. Also, Reyna's version of Parisa xD That's not what I expected, and I had no expectations.
Tristan: Poor Tristan, he took on Libby's role.
Callum: Well, well, well.. I enjoyed this chapter a lot. I like that we now know a little how Callum's magic works, taking emotions from others and then he has to feel them.

It's been a while since I picked up the book, but I just read a few chapters. I think the reason I'm not flying through it is because even thought it has some interesting things, it doesn't interest me that much.

Sarah-Vanessa | 272 comments @mina I‘m so relieved to read that I haven’t managed to pick it up either and got stuck at chapter 3. I‘m definitely interested in the book, but I feel like the writing is rather complex and philosophical so it‘s not an easy read where you fly through the pages - as you already mentioned - but instead you need to take your time I‘ll definitely try to finish this book and the series but I don’t know if I managed with just 3 days left

@Sarah-Vanessa
No worries, I'm not finishing it in March either. Considering that only us two are discussing the book we can just talk about it as we go. But I would like to finish this one and the next in April, to just be done with it.

Sarah-Vanessa | 272 comments @mina sounds like a plan. Would like to finish the series in April too. Hopefully I‘ll make it.

III Origins+ somewhere into IV Entropy
I like where this is going. Nico helping Tristan to discover his new ability seems risky. And Callum and Reina teaming up seems like the weirdest alliance but we‘ll see. I mostly liked the Libby chapter though. Need to know what’s happening there.

Finished the Entropy part. I agree that Libby's chapter's are interesting, especially that Ezra hid her in the past. I'm also intrigued by the Dalton that lives in Dalton's head; I guess he's all-powerful with his gift and because of that Atlas, or maybe someone else but with Atlas, has done something to him. I really hope that the book get's more interesting because if not I may not even pick the third part, I'm not gonna read something that feels like a chore.

Sarah-Vanessa | 272 comments @mina yes the Dalton part also is interesting. Overall I agree with you. I find the book quite interesting I just wish the pace would be a bit quicker It takes along time and a lot of dialogue for something to happen. Feel free to dnf if you feel like it. I will probably finish the series.

I'm finishing this one for sure, but I'm not sure if I'll pick up the next one. I'm slowly getting back to reading and I don't want to get caught in reading something just to finish it and then have no will to read anything else.

Finished Duality. If nothing else I like how things and characters are connecting. And with that the Dalton case is more interesting, honestly the only interesting thing in this book for me.

Sarah-Vanessa | 272 comments Duality
Finished Duality as well Although I‘m definitely interested in the Dalton part like you @mina, the thing interesting me most is Libby‘s POV, how she will return to the present. And definitely Gideon. I find him fascinating.

So far it’s interesting but still too slowly paced for me.

Sarah-Vanessa | 272 comments Ego - Fate.
Had some time to move forward quite a bit. So far I‘m still absolutely invested with Libby‘s story. And definitely enjoyed the part where we find out about Dalton.

Sarah-Vanessa | 272 comments Olympus - End
Yey, I finished it. Overall it’s a solid three star. I like it and I find the story per se is amazingly well thought and played out. Really well done. What doesn’t do it for me are the endless conversations, dialogues and somewhat highly academic writing with lots of philosophical conversations. Don’t get me wrong the writer is a genius and it’s beautifully written. For me personally I just prefer a book, that can be read or listen to without too much concentration as reading is something I used to do after a long day of work. I found it absolutely hard to read in English So I switched to the German audiobook. Problem for me with audiobooks if there’s too much dialogue like in this book, my mind used to drift off. I find myself nit able to focus. So probably missed several important things with the audiobook.

But I‘m definitely going to finish this series. I want to know how it ends. @mine let me know if you’re in If not it’s totally fine.

I still have half of it to read. I finished yesterday Ego, but I hadn't had time to read today before work.

I agree the dialogues can be too much, I noticed that some dialogues feel like fillers and that they have no point, just because. I don't mind much the academic part of it, it can be interesting but it doesn't interest me that much.

I'll try and finish it soon. I don't know what needs to happen for me to be intrigued to start the 3rd book considering how I'm feeling about this one, and maybe the first one when I think of it. It had an okish story and the thing about Libby pulled me to read the 2nd book. We'll see.

Sarah-Vanessa | 272 comments @mine I started the 3rd book, but I think so far, we leave it at the second if it’s ok fir you? I have it as a audiobook and I listen to it occasionally when I exercise, so I don’t really feel like discussing it in extend. Is that ok for you?
