Week 24: a book based entirely on its cover.
June 11 - June 17, 2015

For this week, look at the books in your library, bookstore or Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ suggestions. You'll see this cover, beautiful, intriguing or appealing, and it will be your book. Don't read the summary, don't read the reviews, just add it to your plan.

How to Create a Topic:
1. Create a topic in the appropriate folder using your book's author and title (Title by Author, please). Link your book with the "This topic is about" feature.

2. In the body of your post, comment about why you chose this book. Have you read it before? What are your expectations?

3. Feel free to use the thread as a way to update the group on your progress. Also, when you are finished reading, add a small review and your thoughts about the week's challenge.

4. Comment on everyone else's posts as well! Participation and group involvement will make this challenge so much fun!

**If you chose the same book as another group member for the same week, do not create a duplicate thread.**

No suggestions this week, there are plenty of interesting covers everywhere :)

Maple (maplerie) | 307 comments This is probably the one week I am most eager to see what everyone has picked. I love cover art and I can't wait to see the covers that were picked and learn why/how the reader picked them.

So excited!!!!!

Sophie (sawphie) I just passed in front of a book store and thought to stop and browse through books to find one that would attract me with its cover. And I found one! It is a sort of faux leathery cover that's very simple but so so soft I couldn't resist! I mostly only read ebooks nowadays and planned to download the one I chose for this week, but I can't wait to hold this one in my hands! By the way it's Fallen Dragon by Peter Hamilton. I'll put a link and a picture when I'm home later (a shame we can't do it with the app!)

Sophie, it's the Bragelonne edition? :)

Sophie (sawphie) Yes it is Zaz! I wanted to show you the cover, but I can't seem to upload a picture, I must be tired or don't understand how to do it ;)

Do you think I should prevent from reading the synopsis and reviews before reading it? It is kind of the point, but since I've already chosen it, I don't know...

I think you can read the synopsis, it's ok because you chose the book before reading it :)

Sophie (sawphie) Thanks for the cover Zaz! I just read the synopsis and I'm not disappointed! I've been meaning to read SF for a long time and since I found the book in the fantasy/SF sector, I didn't know which way it would go ;) I'm curious about the dragon in the title though. Has anyone read it?

Rachael (rachael_cochlin) | 8 comments So I have chosen Last Train to Istanbul: A Novel. I was browsing the Kindle Unlimited titles and this one just jumped out at me!

message 9: by Marta (new)

Marta (gezemice) This was a toughie for me, because 1. I don't pick by cover, I pick by reviews and recommendations; 2. I find most covers generic; 3. I tried already once and failed - the book I picked turned out to have sexist references so I returned it to the library.

Now I am excited though because today I saw this gorgeous and unusual cover in the library and the book promises to be fascinating!
