Need us to change a buddy start date for you? Need a question answered? Have a suggestion for a challenge?

Cynthia Yoder | 4 comments Hi Friends, I have been market testing some titles, and have not yet landed on one for my memoir, which is a love story about healing a marriage gone awry & also finding my heart again. I am wondering what you think of this:

Return to the Lilies: finding my heart again among my Mennonite roots

I also had something quite different, which was "Tortured, Crazy Love: a romance & return to my Mennonite roots".

thanks!
Cynthia

Hi, I think they are both good but I think I prefer the second one.. it catches your attention slightly more. I hope I've helped, feel free to put it in a new thread and ask the group? :)

message 4: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments I would prefer the first one, but I would tweak it a little.

I'd still stick to the first or second.

Collette Tepperberg (candibelle) | 51 comments Hi! I'm new to the whole online buddy system and just wanted to ask: How do you guys keep track of the book we read (such as for the BINGO challenge) in order to award us points? And what do the points go towards?

Thanks in advance. :)

Hey, welcome to the group! When the challenge is open, Elizabeth or I will create a review thread where you can link your reviews and any buddy reads within the group that go along with the books. We then give points based on the review and buddy read--one per each review and one per buddy read usually depending on challenge rules. The points will then be calculated at the end of the month and the person/pair with the most points and a random winner will get to pick a book of their choice. Does this help?

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments I was wondering if you guys have a 'currently reading' thread or 'your latest book purchase' thread? Something along those lines? If you do I can't find it. :/

message 18: by Mary (new)

Mary Mortimer (memortimer) Could you add a Bingo challenge? I think it would be fun for the group

message 19: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments We'll think about that for the future as a solo challenge.:) Or were you thinking team?

message 20: by Mary (new)

Mary Mortimer (memortimer) Solo challenge would work best.

message 21: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments Awesome! We'll think of something probably for a quarterly challenge or something. Great suggestion!

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments I have two quick questions.

1. When will the Superheroes reviews be updated again?

2. When will the planning thread for Madness in May be up?

^-^

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments I'll update scores in just a bit.

We'll get the thread up in the next day or so. :)

Kaylin (The Re-Read Queen) (kaylin_14) I just read ( Blink 2 (Rebel Minds) by C.B. Stone ) and would like to count it for my July points, but there is no page count listed on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ. Can I still count it for the review point, even if I can't count the pages?

On Amazon it says it's 74 pages. :)

Lynn Thinking out loud (lynn1938) Are we allowed to do promos in this group? Thank you for your time

message 32: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments What do you mean by this? We offer a read-to-review system where you send Courtney your information and she sets up a discussion for your book for our members to read and review honestly in exchange for a copy.

message 33: by Lynn (new)

Lynn Thinking out loud (lynn1938) Ok. I thought I'd be allowed to leave links and a blurb.

Hello! You have two weeks from the last comment or the day that the buddy read started. As for starting a buddy read early, we don't have a day limit. If you ever need a buddy thread restarted, just ask.

I think we've always done it for that month.. maybe we can do the grace period next year. Sounds kind of cool.

How many comments do you have so far? Like on the BOTM thread?

If you post 3 and make a comment to someone else's post, that will equal 4 comments. So you can use the BOTM in December.

Awesome! Thank you!!

As it is, the challenges favor shorter books (with bonuses, or just needing more books to finish more tasks), so the cap seems like an added penalty.

Elizabeth Aguilar (theelizaaguilar) | 982 comments I thought I saw the answer to this question but I can't find it anymore.

Would it be possible to count a book I started in a different month if I'm still reading a significant portion of it during the time of a challenge?

E.g. I read ~30 pages of a 350 pg book or 100 of a 490 pg book in December but finishing in January.

You can still count it if for page points. Unless the challenge sign ups specify that the amount read over 100 pages can count towards a category within that challenge.
