Silver I loved this story! I haven't read all the stories yet, but thus far this one is by far my favorite of them. I found it so interesting and engaging with such vivid scenes.

I loved the concept of recounting his memories branch by branch upon the tree, and how the memories became more mature as he progressed through them, progressing through the own years of life.

I loved the fanciful descriptions of the toys, and fairy tales seeming to come to life. I particularly enjoyed that part about his being in love with Red Ridding hood.

And than I loved the snippets of the ghost stories that were recounted. Particularly the image of the woman who had drowned. I thought it was hilarious when they said they grabbed their pistols, because it reminded me of modern day horror movies when there is something supernatural and so people start getting guns, and I am just like um you really think shooting a ghost is going to work?

Julia (jujulia) | 30 comments That's funny, you're struggling with the Haunted Man and i couldn't finish this one.....maybe because i read it late at night and didn't have the patience or my phantasy was all dried up - i definitely loved your summary and so maybe i'll go back to it tonight when i'm more awake.

Silver Yes that is quite funny! Good luck if you do give it another try. I would say that the attempt would be worth it.

Rebecca I am moving on to this one as well. Maybe I will revisit The Haunted Man another time.
