Jennifer | 14 comments book 7 Ariborn by keith Oppel
YA steam punk with lighter than air ships and rip roaring adventure
the title is not a misspelling part is about being born in the air
has a sequel I'm going to read too

want to read a Connie Willis book next if available at library without too many holds

also got Sarah Vowel's the Wordy Shipmates. haven't gotten beyond what I heard on the radio yet but it looks good

can anyone tell me how to get links to goodreads in my posts?

Jennifer | 14 comments what I really love about this challenge is seeing the variety of types of books on other people's lists

book 10 Blackout Connie Willis
book 11 Chocolate Chip Cookie Mystery Joanne Fluke

loved Blackout
Chocolate Chip Cookie mystery is OK but strictly borrow from library not buy
Wolf to the Slaughter(book 8) was interesting and had a good twist but I tried a later book by Rendell and couldn't read it all.

working on Captain Blood by Sabatini and a book on Francis Perkins

Jennifer | 14 comments I'm still here really. Last read Out of Control by Teresa Noelle Roberts - kinky erotica with a good romance.

recommend

Jennifer | 14 comments Ok I'm just going to back to adding significant books to my list. Someday I will hit 45

15 Bleeding Edge by Thomas Pynchon. It's about 9/11 and the theme of going/finding home. It is big on conspiracy theory but all his work is.

16 Late Nights on Air by Elizabeth Hay which had some interesting parts but a trite ending and poor writing( that was for a book club)

The next book club book was An Audience of Chairs which I didn't get to finish but I liked the part I read. It is about a bipolar woman coping with life. The good part is she ends up being successful at coping.

17 Earlier I read Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson. I don't love everything he's written but this is one I did. He always has lots of threads that weave together. It's an older book so several things he predicts have been invented since then. It also has a lot of fun code stuff including a fascinating method totally explained in the appendix.

For cozy reads I am re-reading Charlotte MacLeod's Kelling and Bittersohn series about a woman from an old Boston family who attracts mysteries and marries a Jewish art detective.

Staying off the computer does have benefits on the time to read side.
