Just discovered the series and read Atlantis Rising, but something didn't make sense!

This is nagging me and keeping me from reading the other books, even though I want to! How do the vampires keep finding everyone?!

How / why do they come after Riley at her home in the beginning? And far more importantly, how do they find Riley, Denal, and Brennan at the safe house near the end? I assumed the vamps captured Reisen after his fight with Conlan because of the "fissure in the elements" caused by the Trident's power when Reisen was trying to use it. Anubisa mentions it.

But the other two times they just swarm out of nowhere for no reason other than a good fight scene. I can suspend disbelief, but the plot holes worry me. Sorry to be a picky reader.

What am I missing? Would love to know so I can keep reading and promise to do so if someone can help me out. Thanks!

I think there was a curfew...so anyone with a heartbeat out after curfew could be dinner.

That's for sure, there was a curfew, so people are not supposed to get out of their houses after a determined hour.

Maybe this question will be answered later. I think it is because there are spies in every team telling them.
