Okay, I'm OCD. I like to put things in categories and classifications. I thought it might be helpful to list the different types of bad boys/Dangerous Heroes for neophytes to this genre. Feel free to add to the list. I will add the types to a master post.

Michelle Gilmore | 151 comments Great list Danielle, thanks for posting!

message 6: by jD (new)

jD (jd_4everbooked) I have read the list twice and every bad boy I love is there. It's a great list.

message 7: by GinBee (new)

GinBee (jennymbee) | 4 comments Danielle, the list is excellent! Now I just need to read some from the ones I've not sampled yet....

Thanks! If you think of some other ones, let me know. :)

message 9: by Zee (new)

Zee Monodee (zee_monodee) | 688 comments I dunno if this one would fall under paranormally lethal, since they are mythical ones:

Guardians (such as Aragorn in LOTR)
Mythology (Zeus, Hades, Hercules, Perseus)

message 10: by Cindi (new)

Cindi (ourtrumpcard) | 381 comments Yikes! I just read Anne Stuart's RITUAL SINS and OMG I'm not sure WHAT to classify her dark & dangerous man (I just can't call him a hero) as. Tortured, criminal, charasmatic, con man . . . . anybody else read it?

message 11: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Loves 'Em Lethal (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 9851 comments Mod
Cindi, I love Ritual Sins. I would consider him a criminal because I lump con artists in with criminals. He's is a religious shyster who is essentially conning people out of their money. But I loved him!

message 12: by Cindi (new)

Cindi (ourtrumpcard) | 381 comments I love all her guys but I admit it was hard to do so in RS. He was a mess! But I found myself wishing for horrible things to happen to all those nasty people in his life ... then going, "Sorry God, I know that's your thing, but man . . . .!!!". Its amazing he wasn't worse! Poor Luke!

message 13: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Loves 'Em Lethal (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 9851 comments Mod
Yes, it was hard for me to decide to read that one. I'm very religious, so I hate the idea of a religious shyster hero. But it was very well done.

message 14: by Wan (new)

Wan (wanwaddell) | 252 comments All of the above but right now, I'm on "9.Historical Warrior (Highlander/Knight/Native Warrior)". Vikings included.

message 15: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Loves 'Em Lethal (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 9851 comments Mod
Thanks for pointing out to add Viking, Wan. Done!

Mollie *scoutrmom* (scoutrmom) | 635 comments Bikers?

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 9851 comments Mod
I think bikers would fall under outlaw, criminal, or sportsmen.

Can you explain what you mean by royalty, Enjee?

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I love the list, Danielle. The odd thing about me, or shall I said, one of the MANY odd things about me, is that I think something won't appeal to me, so I never give it a chance. Cowboys are the perfect example of that. But then once I read some books where Cowboys or ranchers were the heroes, I fell in love with them, too!

Moral of the story? - Read EVERYTHING!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Pirate maybe should be under the Historical Warrior category, don't you think? Or are they not considered warriors? Maybe criminals?

Courtney (mrs_hf) | 164 comments From Historicals Romance: Rakes (you can kinda throw them in with the "Seducer/Heartbreaker/Womanizer" section but they're also guys to who like to gamble and drink "too much" lol)

Thanks, girls. I added your suggestions. I put pirate with outlaw/gunslinger.

I don't know about Enjee but I totally dig Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Henry VII (the Tudors) VERY DANGEROUS in deed.

I have a shelf for some of them.

Maria, check out the GhostWalker books. They are excellent! You might also enjoy Burning Wild. Jake is not your typical hero at all. :)

Maria | 135 comments Hi everyone,

I couldn't wait to order all 4 books together. You have all have got me so intrigued about this Jake bloke as he is a different type of a dark, brooding dangerous and scarred hero, sounds right my street. LOL. I have ordered 'Burning Wild' today and should get it by next week.

I hope the book is worth it for my permanent RS collection.

I'm anxious to see if you like it, Maria.

message 39: by Maria (last edited Sep 29, 2010 11:39AM) (new)

Maria | 135 comments I am also very eager to read it, I will let you know of my progress with the book once i get it.

I ordered the one which was first issued in April 2009 ( from the US)as on Amazon, it says its 480 pages long but the other book which was published in May 2009 has only 380 pages (available in the UK). I thought the latter may be a slightly different version. I got abit confused

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish That's odd, Maria. I don't know why there would be 100 pages different!

Burning Wild is probably my favorite of the series, with Wild Fire 2nd and the others 3rd and 4th. I hope you love them!

I haven't gone upstairs to look at my copy, but the reason could be the coming attractions that are stuck at the back of so many books. It also could be a typo.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Very true, Mollie! I got mine out and on my copy the story ends at page 443 and the Hidden Currents excerpt ends on page 465.

A pal sent me a book whose typeface was so small (8 point?) that I got a Large Print version from the public library. That might also be a factor.

message 44: by Maria (new)

Maria | 135 comments HI,

If you click on the following link, Amazon has copies of this book. no.1 says its 320 pages. The version I have ordered is no 3 which is 480 pages. Perhaps there may be a font issues.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Maria, I'm not seeing page counts at those links. My copy is a standard Mass Market Paperback and I got it when it was first released, it's not a reprint.

I wish I knew what to tell you.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish That might be, Mollie!

message 47: by Maria (new)

Maria | 135 comments Sorry Dhestiny

I may have confused you, you also got to click on the book itself then it brings up the details, where it says product details. I've put the link below. It says 320 pages

This one, in the product details it says 480 pages

hope you get my drift

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Ahhhh, 2 different publishers. The one I have is the 2nd link and says "original publishing, Jove ..."

Thanks... I'm easily confused. LOL

message 49: by Maria (last edited Nov 11, 2010 07:16AM) (new)

Maria | 135 comments After watching the latest series (9) of Spooks ( Mi5). Richard Armitage as Lucas North played the dual role of edgy dangerous good/bad boy hero perfectly. He had me so confused of what he was up to right until the end.

In the books that I have read,Jake is very dangerous at the moment. All the things you girls said about him, I absolutely agree with you.

message 50: by Maria (new)

Maria | 135 comments BTW, Does anyone watch the paranormal US TV series Haven?
There are two mysterious scary heroes in there. They are quite yummy.lol

Nathan and Luke, they are not what they seem
