Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) Post the title and author of your nominations only. No voting or "I seconds" in this thread. I'll create a poll on Mon 6/21 for everyone to vote on. Reminder: If your nomination is picked, you're expected to lead the read. Thanks!

Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) Hm, I'm going to post a poll w/these two books and "Let's skip a summer read & pick up again in Fall" as a third option since there's not much of a response this go around!

Cheryl S. | 3501 comments There's not much response to a summer read or much activity on this site right now. Bummer! Everyone must be too busy actually gardening to have time to go on line. I miss the interaction and info and hope everyone comes back soon. I planned to be working outside today as well, but a 3 inch downpour during the night and off and on sprinkles have put a stop to that plan. The humidity is very high so nothing is dryng off and it's just too yucky to garden. Thankfully I staked up my hollyhocks yesterday or they would have been flattened last night.

Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) Happens every year around mid to late Spring until mid Summer. Everyone will be back as gardening and vacations, etc wind down! We had about an inch from the storms that passed through last night. I repotted my Pacino Sunflowers today with my Lavender and (therefore repotted my Pansy's as well) and that was good enough for me! Very hot today.

NancyL Luckey I've been reading and working inside for the past few days. We've had 12 straight days of 90s and the air quality is in the dangerous area. Just ordered several books from the summer sale at B&N, so I'll hibernate till it gets a little cooler.

Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) Well, we have a tie:

3 votes, 50.0%, for "Paths of Desire: The Passions of a Suburban Gardener" and 3 votes, 50.0%, for "Let's skip a Summer read and pick up again this Fall!"

I've decided I'll run a thread for Paths of Desire (since I nominated it) but don't feel obligated to or bad about not participating if you'd like to skip our Summer read! I hope you'll join us for it but if not I hope to keep seeing you in the other threads throughout the Summer!

I already have Paths of Desire from the Library (which is why I nominated it!) but to give everyone time who doesn't have it yet and taking the 4th of July holiday & weekend next week into consideration, I'll begin the discussion thread on Tuesday July 6th and it will run until Wed 9/22 or until it's run its' course, whichever comes first. (I may post some author info prior to that).
