is mee... kissa | 551 comments Finished Lover Eternal
I have now finally finished the first three novels of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series... having read Lover Awakened (the third in the series) first, and having liked Zsadist in that novel, I wasn't really able to attach myself to the characters in Dark Lover, and the same goes for Lover Eternal. Although it is a good book, i found myself paying more attention to the Zsadist scenes than anything else, but otherwise.. it's an engaging, entertaining novel that i think will rate right off the scale for some people... for me, the biggest thing that puts the ratings down are the lead characters...

Gemma (bookmoodreviews) | 112 comments I remember seeing ashes of midnight in a charity shop. I'm going to try and get that book to read.

message 103: by Katie (new)

Katie (katervette) | 117 comments I finished The Raven Prince on November 8th. I gave it four stars. I plan to read the rest of the series. At first I thought I wasn't going to like the hero but he ended up having more depth than I expected. I really liked the clips from the story The Raven Prince at the beginning of each chapter. Overall a cute fast read.

message 104: by Sherry (new)

Sherry So I went to grab Lover Eternal off of my book shelf to read for this challenge, only to realize that I had loaned my enteire Black Dagger Brotherhood collection to a friend to read the series. I tried to find it at the library but no luck.

I think I'm gonna pass on thi schallenge as there are no other books that I want to read or re-read at this time. :(

message 105: by Daffodil (new)

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 1058 comments Finished The Raven Prince last night. 3.5 Stars. Nice, enjoyable read. Loved all the hilariously eccentric secondary characters. I do wish Edward's two friends had made more of an appearance, especially since they are the focus of the other two books in the trilogy.

message 106: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 1339 comments I'm in too please! I'll be reading The Raven Prince before the 30th...

message 107: by Yz the Whyz, Moderator (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Finished Truly, Madly Viking. I had it in my TBR pile for more than 2 years now, and I'm glad to finally read it. Typical time travel romance. Slightly cheesy, but still a fun read.

message 108: by KimKirt (new)

KimKirt | 1638 comments Okay, I just started Tangled Up In You. I should have it done before the deadline!

message 109: by Penney (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments I finished Truly, Madly Viking yesterday. It was cute and hokey and completely unrealistic but a nice light read. I certainly don't regret reading it.

Those were my thoughts too about the book.

message 111: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 1339 comments I am soooo pissed! I loved the Raven Prince up to page 222, at which it skipped to page 254, missing the "revelation" scene!!!! I more or less figured out what went on and finished the book, but I'm furious!!! Does anyone know what I should do in this situation? Send it back to the publisher??

message 112: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

My thoughts too! Very light and fun if you are looking for mindless distraction!

Holy Cow, Melanie! I think I'd go to the bookstore, show them and exchange it!

message 114: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24015 comments If it is an ebook? I had a lot of trouble with one online retailer getting a refund on a book I had bought, which they then decided the geographic restrictions applied and wouldn't let me download it. After a number of emails discussing their download policy which basically doesn't want you to contact them (but if you have a problem you MUST notify them within 24 hours!!), I eventually got a refund after I pointed out the number of books I had bought from them! Took a couple of months!

Good luck Melanie!

message 115: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 1339 comments Unfortunately, I 1)live in Switzerland 2) bought the book in NM about a year ago and therefore have no way of returning it and yelling.. Although I'm thinking of trying to contact the publisher and pitching a hissy fit when I have time...

Jane, how crazy is it that you can buy a book but can't download it!? I'm hoping it won't happen to me next!:-s

message 116: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24015 comments I'd contact the publisher Melanie. I'm sure they will replace the book - they are probably quite reasonable. You might be up for postage though.

I think ebooks are a bit trickier... I have to admit - I haven't bought many ebooks since my experience...!!

message 117: by Angela (new)

Angela (angieerickson) | 439 comments I finished my book - and it was just as good as the first time!

message 123: by Daffodil (new)

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 1058 comments @ Melanie

If you have a local bookseller, I'd try asking them about it. I once had a book assembled completely out of order. The sections were put in so that I had something like 1-30, 91-120, 61-90, 31-60, 121-150. (Confused the heck out of me, LOL). I'd bought it while visiting my Mom and discovered it later. When I went to my local bookstore, they told me no problem. They would exchange it for me since they could send it back to the publisher for full credit or exchange. They didn't lose any money and knew there was a good chance I'd remember the incident the next time I was out book shopping and would choose their store first.

Huh.. I'll try the store here in Geneva, but it might be hard:-) Otherwise I'll just haul it to me when I go next to the US.. Thanks for the info!

message 125: by Renee (new)

Renee | 231 comments Just finished Wild Card WOWWWW!!!!! I had never read Lora Leigh before, she has a new fan. I was hooked from the 1st page. First erotic book I have read that had an awesome story behind it. I truly enjoyed the story and had a hard time putting the book down.

Debbie (db_debber) | 2757 comments whew, made it =)
I finished Stargirl last night. I really enjoyed the moral concept of the book. It was pretty good for a YA. I might even try to read the next one (Love, Stargirl), eventually.

Good idea. I think the first book was okay. I didn't really warmed up that much with the hero and heroine, but I really like The Darkest Kiss. I think the heroine is a riot. : )

I keep saying I'm going to get around to it, but something else always shoves in front of it. Since it's the only one on the list that I own and haven't already read maybe I'll actually read it this time around. :D
