Rachel, since you are on a historical fiction kick, have you tried any of the Love Inspired Historical books? They are all under $4 for the kindle too. I grabbed several and I am hoping to get to them soon.

I haven't actually, but that's a good suggestion - they all seem to be around £2/3 on Kindle here. I'm looooving my Kindle, so handy for travelling. Any LIH recommendations or should I just see what takes my fancy?

I think that I will read Her Healing Ways (Love Inspired Historical) first, for no particular reason.

I have tried for years to enjoy the Love Inspired books but to no avail. Same with Historical - thank goodness there are enough other books out there for me to read.

I've read one Love Inspired Suspense and really enjoyed it but read another regular Love Inspired and found it rather uninspiring. I'll have to check out the Historical line and see what they're like.

For some odd reason, there aren't any LI books past September 2009 on Kindle in the UK - bizarre! But thanks for the list, I'll check some of those out.

One more done! And amended my challenge.

So I picked up A Plain and Simple Christmas: A Novella last night to read in bed and finished it this morning. Only took a few hours to read but was a really sweet story. I didn't think it was quite up to the standards of Amy Clipston's other books but I'm never normally a fan of novellas anyway. I'd recommend it for Amish fans for next Christmas, though! A sweet story about forgiveness and I'd love to hear more about some of the characters, especially Kathryn and Amanda.

I wish I could read a book fast like you do Rachel. I am reading faster when I read from my Kindle. Last year, I didn't even read one book a week. This year I've already read 5 books.

I don't normally read so many books but I've got 2 weeks holiday from university right now and nothing else to do. When semester starts back my reading will probably slow down again.

I'm impressed that I managed to read one a week with my paying quilting projects. I just have too many hobbies and not enough time. Boy, work does get in the way! LOL! But it helps fund everything!

Thanks so much Terri. Prayers are always appreciated. I honestly get so ancy on long plane flights because my knees hurt if I have to keep them bent for that long, but I am so glad to have an excuse to just read and read (and read and read!!)

I did indeed kick some reading butt this month! Very likely due to my 2 weeks holiday from university. Classes start back on Monday so my reading may slow down, but the year started well and that makes me happy. I need to make sure I balance reading for pleasure along with reading for classes otherwise I'll forget how much fun it is to read something that I enjoy!

I loved the whole series, Rachel. When I finished the last one I truly felt like I knew the entire family and that I was going to miss them terribly.

It's definitely my favourite of Beverly Lewis's series! Have loved every single book so far. I have #5 at home but I couldn't fit many books in my suitcase coming back to Uni. My parents are coming to visit in a few weeks so I'm going to ask my mum to bring it up so I can finally finish the series :)

I read Abram's Daughter's through book 4. I put off reading book 5. Have so many books to read.

I had a big gap between #3 and #4, I think I read #3 back in June! So I'll probably read #5 soon since I own it and then I'll have finished a whole series. I never used to like reading books in a series but it feels quite satisfying when you're finished with one. And a lot of Amish books are series books.

Non-Fiction book that I just finished reading is: The Devil in Pew Number Seven. I really enjoyed it and I also enjoyed Son Of Homas; they were both non-fiction Christian based books.

I'm adding Doctor Faustus and Other Plays although technically I only read Doctor Faustus. Not exactly cheating as academic texts are more of an effort to read, right?

Yay, glad you agree! I'm reading a play a week this semester and I'm hoping that I'll still manage to fit in some "fun" reading alongside Shakespeare and Tennessee Williams and so on. For some reason, plays seem to be faster reads than novels.

I think I'm going to count it as one for now as it was the same size as a regular paperback, I think each novella was about 130 pages? It'll totally confused my GoodReads Reading Challenge page as it only counts as one on there!
