Amazing Dana, magician of Children's SRP fame, is now doing an adult program about his trek on the Pacific Crest Trail. Knowing Dana, I can't help but think there will be hilarious stories a la Bill Bryson on the Appalachian Trail! By the way, if you haven't read Bill Bryson's A Walk in the Woods... now's the time!

Ina | 4 comments I join Rita in highly recommending Bill Bryson's "A Walk in the Woods" It is very readable and I guarantee you will laugh out loud multiple times. I have even read odd paragraphs to groups of Boy Scouts - who usually ask for more.

I read this a while back and recommended it to my book club. So now I'm *rereading* it and enjoying it all over again.

I just viewed a beautiful series of photographs taken by someone who traveled through Italy by bicycle. They are on display in the rear dining room of the OB People's Co-op. The pictures are colorful and portray a "back door" to many places in Italy while offering some highlights of that old European feel from the images of ancient buildings, agricultural fields, and baked bread. I noticed that the photographer posted her email by the display. If you're interested in recruiting another speaker, you might contact her and see if she would like to give a small talk at your branch. It would be a particularly interesting program to combine her talk with a display of books on travel photography! Happy reading and update me on your programs through Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ if you have the time! Best wishes, Kristen
