Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments I know it's just the beginning of March, but since the group is new, let's decide a book to start in April. You can second a nomination as well.

message 2: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments I nominate A Wizard of Earthsea.

message 3: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn Does it have to be a book we've read already, or can it be one we want to read?

message 4: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments Both, but just select one. If you want to read whatever again, you can nominate it. If you think something sounds good, you can nominate, but just nominate one book please.

message 5: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn All right. I nominate Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card.

message 6: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments I forgot I wanted to read that one too. Oh well.

message 7: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn Yeah, I've been meaning to read that one forever.

message 8: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments Same here.

message 9: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn I've never read AWizard of Earthsea though.

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't know...

message 11: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn 'Bout what?

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

what to nominate.

message 13: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn Oh.

message 14: by Jim (new)

Jim (jakadeus) Ender's game is a good book, sort of a classic sci-fi that everyone should read once at least.

I have already read it though, so I am going to throw something else in the ring that I have wanted to read for some time: The Hunger Games

There are others that I want to read more, but they are not anywhere to be found without spending money (library).

message 15: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn The Hunger Games is a good series, but I'd rate it pg-13 for violence. Collins' is a good author, and in her novels she explores the psychological effects of war on children and the negative mental consequences that violence inflicts at a young age. So they are interesting but somewhat depressing; with the children-killing-children and all.

message 16: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments Oh....I didn't realize they were like that. Well we probably will read stuff like The Lord of the Rings in this group so it might be fine.

message 17: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments What I'm probably most concerned about is language.

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

same here.

message 19: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn Yeah, me too. Cursing is NOT OK

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

NO WAY!

message 21: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments Awesome! :D

message 22: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn Are there any other nominations?

message 23: by Connor (last edited Mar 11, 2011 01:42PM) (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments Yeah! Anyone else want to nominate books so I could post a pole?

message 24: by Nicole (last edited Mar 12, 2011 09:57AM) (new)

Nicole Kathryn It is spelled P.O.L.L. :P

message 25: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments Oops! That's very embarrassing. Thank you :/

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

VERY embarrasing.

message 27: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn Sorry! I'm a punctuation/grammar/spelling freak. ;)

message 28: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments Same here. I just don't notice though if I mess up. :]

message 29: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn Hahaha! It's weird: texting drives me crazy, but I have no qualms about saying "lol" "omg" "ttyl" and etc. And the little smiley faces are cute ;) :P :)

message 30: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments Yeah, I only use lol rarely. I like smiley faces *:O)
