I used to be a major hoarder, but I finally realized I don't have room to own every book in the world (wish I did!) so I have been really good lately about getting rid of books I'm not overly fond of.

I hoard books too Allison. But I did get rid of clockwork orange. I did not like that one.
I am so hoping that it doesn't rain today. I feel like mother nature is soaking us in wetness this spring.
The plus is that the grass and trees are very beautifully green but when am I going to mow my 10" long grass if it keeps raining? When is my son ever going to be able to have his ball games?
Rain please give me a little break!!! PLEASE>>>>>>

It is so hard to believe that tomorrow is June 1st! Wow the year has flow by!

didn't realize until i saw your post, emilee, what day it was *sigh*
Sorry Sherry. I should have posted sooner.
I let coupons expire all the time. I guess sometimes i don't need anything.

Sometimes we're naughty, sometimes we're nice :0)
Wow it seems like forever since I have been on in this group. I didn't have internet for two weeks. exceedlingly depressing. But I am back.
I got the cutest smurf today. It talks. I am such a geek. It looks just like my avitar.

I would have found that hard to live with. I have to do two flights to get to the UK and that is a whole day without internet and I feel deprived. Flying back I come via Miami and there is a three hour layover so I pay $9.95 just to sit in the lounge on the internet. Do you think I am addicted?

It is hurricane season now and I dread it. I have tinned food, I have a cistern, my house is safe, I have a cell phone, I can recharge my laptop through my truck, but without current I can't get internet. If the wires blow down, I live in the LAST area of the island that will be fixed: no-one worries about rainforest villages with only 20 or so houses strung out over a mile or so. What will I do? Will I emigrate to another island or will I put a mattress on the floor of my shop in town and sleep there. I think you can guess what the answer is!!!

I had to go to hospital for a procedure and there had just been a hurricane, so no current. I checked into a hotel in the marina the day before the op, had the procedure and spent the next 5 days in the hotel until the area got current back. I told my husband that the clinic said I had to have access to a nurse (the manager's wife was a nurse which was why I used the excuse) simply so I could be somewhere with internet. I left the kid with the husband and I didn't feel guilty at all and I didn't think it was a waste of money either.

I may be nearing that... it's just the whole sense of being disconnected and when you read or see something a..."
If you lived in a rainforest on a tiny island two and a half thousand miles away from the nearest mainland, you might go batty without internet too! There's only so many times a girl wants to sit on the beach under a coconut tree sipping a pina colada - unless she has internet on her laptop.
P that is so funny about your need for internet. I think I would do the same thing....

I'm back from my fortnight in England.
Yes people gave me books, my mother bought me books, I bought me books and I bought my children books.
Unfortunately we were too busy sightseeing to get much reading done.
And of course I missed you all

Did you get all the books home again?"
Everywhere seems quiet when I'm on holiday that's why my nickname has always been chatterbox :0)
We went with only 49kg of our 80kg (4*20kg) allowance so we managed to bring all our purchases home with us except the crabbing net whose handle was too long :0(

I should be packing the laundry but I'm surfing GR too (I send my laundry out).
I like laundry. I also like ironing. it lets you have an excuse for not doing 5th grade homework. I also like cookies.

I don't mind laundry. I find something soothing about sorting it into piles. I hate ironing so I just don't buy stuff that needs ironing. I haven't ironed for a couple of years.
I also hate dusting so I don't so that either.

How do you find your books? by their dust jackets hehehe

The ones on the shelves have more of a Siberian-style winter coat of dust rather than a jacket :0)
But I have run out of shelf room so I have piles all over the house. About once a month the piles start to wobble because they are too high or there are too many small books at the bottom so I rearrange them, dusting them in the process and figuring out what I must read next.
If a book on a shelf takes my fancy it is removed, dusted thoroughly with a damp cloth and placed on one of the piles.
I hate dusting but I love fondling books :0)
