JG (Introverted Reader) I am terrified of snakes. I'm not so bad with other reptiles, but I'm not particularly fond of any of them. We went to St. John in the US Virgin Islands a few years ago, and there was this one hugely practical shortcut into town from our B&B that was just a little path through some trees. Iguanas were everywhere in the trees! We're talking ones that were about 2 feet long! I practically ran through there, imagining what it was going to feel like when one of those suckers ran across my head to get to the other side! And how quickly my heart would stop from the fright! But I made it, and the iguanas never so much as even looked at me. It still freaks me out to think about it though.

Sorry to hear that Emma. Is there any silver lining like getting to read while bed ridden?

message 354: by Emma (last edited Sep 22, 2008 10:39AM) (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Haha, true! Last time I was sick I finished about 4 books. Not to mention the excuse to go on GR and lots of ice cream for the sore throat! Ahh, that makes me feel better!

message 355: by [deleted user] (new)

Sorry your sick Emma. Read a lot. Ben & Jerry's is really good when your sick & not sick.

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Ahh, true dat, true dat! (Ack, my gansta is HORRIBLE)!

message 357: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments There is one good thing about this: getting sick now means I won't be sick for Halloween! So I can eat mars bars and read!

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Haha Lori! Good god, I scare myself. I have a cousin who ATTEMPTS to be gansta, but in reality it's just annoying. I'll have to show him my impression the next time I see him. You think he would give me money to stop???

message 363: by Lori, Super Mod (new)

Lori (tnbbc) | 10557 comments Mod
Most likely.....
Is your cousin one of those "wiggers"? I grew up with a bunch of them in NY.. funniest shit Ive ever seen! They were all like mini Vanilla Ice's.. haa haa

message 364: by Emma (last edited Sep 23, 2008 07:47AM) (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Haha, well, he's a very handsome, not skelton skinny, guy. (The dude is 13 and he's had a 16 year old girlfriend)! But it gets very very annoying, and he's not fooling anyone.

message 365: by Ann from S.C. (new)

Ann from S.C. | 1395 comments I am so sad... i just took my 8 month old golden to be fixed. He looked so innocent, he did not have a clue what was going to happen to him. Oh well, everyone says this calm him down a little. I pray they are right!

message 366: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Awwwww, well, animals that are fixed live longer. That's something to be happy about!

message 367: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) It calmed down our little male kitten (he kept wanting to boff his older sister)! But it wasn't fun - I feel your pain, Ann.

message 368: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments I remember when my cat got fixed. It was horrible, she's an indoor cat, and her wide eyed innocence made me burst into tears. But, before she was peeing on everything and know she's fine. Yes, I'm sure your cat will feel better afterwards Ann!

message 369: by Beth (new)

Beth Knight (zazaknittycat) | 501 comments Emma, I hope you feel better soon! By the way, I finished AGATB two days ago and I loved it. I can't wait to read the next two books in the series.

message 370: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Thanks Beth, oh that's awesome! :D I'm so happy you liked them! Did the ending take you by surprise? I had no clue!

message 371: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Oh, and what did you think of Kartik? He's definitely one of my books crushes. :)

message 372: by Sherry (new)

message 374: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments :D, Awesome Lori!

message 375: by Sherry (new)

Sherry It must be a big load off of the shoulders to not have to supervise anymore(though that explains the super moderator skills!)I remember when I was no longer responsible as a supervisor,I felt like I lost 10 pounds, and all off my shoulders!

message 376: by Sherry (new)

Sherry Is anyone finding that GRs is acting up on them today? I find that sometimes I go to hit on a particular thread or post a comment and it will bring up an error page.Weird!

message 377: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Yeah, I'm getting that too.

message 378: by Sherry (new)

Sherry Hmmmm...I wonder what's up?

message 379: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Yeah....weird. I thought it was my computer.

message 382: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments I need GR like I need air, and food and reading!

message 383: by [deleted user] (new)

We are so addicted! I hate being away from it & since school started I am feeling withdrawl running my kids around.

message 384: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Haha!

message 385: by Linda (new)

Linda | 887 comments Ann, good luck with that. Don't know if you read Marley Me (won't spoil it if not), but you might want to see that part of the book. Also, was it Doctor Doolittle with Eddie Murphy where they have the part about having the dog fixed? Poor pooch, but admit I had to smile at that scene.

message 386: by Beth (new)

Beth Knight (zazaknittycat) | 501 comments I know the feeling...all our animals have been fixed and I always felt bad but it is better for the animals in the long run.

message 387: by Beth (new)

Beth Knight (zazaknittycat) | 501 comments The ending was a big surprise to me!

message 388: by Beth (new)

Beth Knight (zazaknittycat) | 501 comments Kartik seems like a hottie to me! He definitely heated my reading up a bit!

message 389: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Yeah, I was always surprised by the twists and turns. :)

message 390: by Ann from S.C. (new)

Ann from S.C. | 1395 comments I just picked him up from the dr. By the way, he is a 8 month old golden retriever puppy, who was "fixed" yesterday. He did really good. He has a cone on his head, and it is so funny! I will post a picture soon.
No, I have not read MARLEY & ME yet, but I heard it is good, and a tear jearker. I had alot of friends say they could not believe we were getting him fixed and not breeding him. We paid a bunch for him and have papers. We did not get him for that purpose. We got him for a family pet. There are enough puppies in this world without adding more. I'm sorry, but that just disturbs me. He is not a money maker, he is a part of our family!!! I love my Sully!

message 391: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments I know! I love how Libba does the romance. And Gemma's dreams.

message 392: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments LOL, The cone is hilarious isn't it?

message 393: by [deleted user] (new)

Random thought: I wonder if I could build a house with wall to wall bookshelves in all living spaces other than kitchen and bathrooms....

message 394: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Why not the bathroom? Especially the bathroom! Forget the sink!

message 395: by [deleted user] (new)

water damage from kids splashing in tub and steam from hot showers!

message 396: by Chloe (new)

Chloe (countessofblooms) | 1128 comments that just means you need to laminate your books. duh.

message 397: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments Haha Logan! True though. The bathroom is the perfect place for lots of books. (Except, of course, if you have kids, silly me)!

message 398: by Emma (last edited Sep 24, 2008 12:55PM) (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) | 2389 comments :) I have a magazine holder in the bathroom.
