Brooke Anderson | 4 comments I loved the book and was looking forward to it so much but I have so many questions. Plus the whole breathing in all of the air or whatever that was to kill the Hulls it just seemed to happen it wasn't as detailed or exciting as all the other parts. My main question though is did Maerad lose her foredreaming ability because they said it was more common in her house, the house of Karn, was it I can't remember off hand I'm not home with my books. Either way they also said there were rumorr of elemental blood being in the house, could the elemental blood have caused the foredreams?

I thought the book was good although the characters seemed a bit OOC (out of character) at some points I mainly noticed it with Cadvan the whole how do you know that if the tree song is whole we won't lose our gifts. He is usually up for anything that hurts the dark then he was unsure. That is not what he is usually like. I think it's worth giving up your gift to stop a war and save innocent people. Sorry just had to say that :)

Brooke Anderson | 4 comments Okay I thought it may be from the elemental blood in her family and that's why her family seemed to have that gift the most that makes a lot of sense though, thanks! :)

"I am already an old man by normal reckoning.....not old in the measure of bards."

Brooke Anderson | 4 comments Didn't Maerad say in the gift/naming depending on where you live that she though Cadvan was 35 or so, just multiply it by 3 since bards live three times as longer than humans. If you want to get really specific since it said somewhere in one of the books that you age as a normal human would until they get the speech if you figure out how old he was when he got the speech subtract that from 35 then multiply it by three other one could be his age. Depends which age you want and how much math you want to do.

The idea that Cadvan (and other Bards) are older than they appear must be a motif taken (consciously or unconsciously) from the example of Aragorn in LoTR, another point of comparison between the two figures.

oh yeah, id forgotten about the comparison between the two

maerad said that he looked about 35.

Karina (clutz4life24) | 7 comments Adrianja wrote: "Hahaha. Cadvan is the best. I don't think they really said how he was. He is at least as old as her parents would have been."

yeah i figured he was much older... but hey.. lol it worked :p

Brooke Anderson | 4 comments Karina he would be like 105 or 84 all depends on how you figure it out.

Becky | 232 comments Mod

He's around 70 because he looks like he's 35

Sofia (sofloaf) | 13 comments I thought the ending was absurdly quick, and WHY WASN'T THE KISS WRITTEN OUT. Instead we got a mediocre epilogue. Oh, well. I loved it. Especially the romantic tension.
