Introductions

I'm Cari, aka prettydemons, and this will be my second year doing Nano. Started last year but life intervened and kept me from completing (or even writing at all during this past winter), so I am determined to finish this year!

I'm , and this year will be my forth NaNo. Fingers crossed it'll be my forth win too.
I'm really excited for this year. I've been planning since May (the whole 'end of the world' thing kind of got me thinking, and I work better with a detailed outline) and I can't wait to delve into the world I've created.
So yeah... It's great to meet everyone! Michelle, don't be too worried. I made goal on my first NaNo with about 22hrs to spare after getting about 10K-ish behind while on a family holiday. And if you don't make goal, you've still written a lot more than most people will write in their lives. :)

@Kayla: I can't believe you finished so much in such a short period of time! I bow to your awesomeness.
I am mystified by "pantsers." I'm an avid outliner, myself. One of my goals in life is to sit down and type with no idea where the book is going, but I tried it once (outside of Nano), and got about five pages into it before I quit. How do pantsers do it?

What happens in here?
Just stumbled across the group and thought maybe I should join.
Had a bash at NaNoWriMo last year, but only lasted for two or three days. Maybe if I take a longer run at it this year...
Hiya, I'm SongoftheWolf, but my real name is Samantha. This will be my second attempt, as I finished last year with 17,000 words. School got in the way unfortunately, as did writer's block. That is always my main problem - writer's block and not knowing where I want to go with the story. On the good side, I do have a simple outline this year, so it might go better!
My name is Janeen, I am 16, and LOVE writing! I've been writing since age 6 and most of the time feel restless when I'm not writing anything. I made a NaNo account and enjoy exploring the vast website, but it can get overwhelming and confusing at times, so I'm glad I found a group for it on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ! I have never done anything like this before and am really excited!!!

Somebody make a sticky note! A thread for good luck and reminders not to despair in mid-November would definitely be helpful.
Hey Everyone. This is my first year doing NANOWRIMO.

Hello and good luck! This is also my first time!

So this time I've used up all my leave for other things and given myself a fighting chance. I failed in my first year due to massive amounts of procrastination and doodling, so perhaps being in the group might give me some motivation.
hey everyone, I'm Shmrie () and this will be my second year doing NaNo. I won last year with a wordcount of just over 92,000 words (sorry, I have to brag on the internet when I get the chance, people in my real life just aren't interested).
super excited for this years nano as this plot has been boiling in my head for like, three or four years now. I can't wait to get to know everyone in this group and have awesome party times next month!

I also started a goodreads thread in the helpful sites forum. Woohoo!

that's my nano page

Wow, there are several of you 100k-ers this year! Good luck to you all.
Here's the link to my Nano page:

In anticipation of November (just a short 14.5 hours away for me!), I'm feeding the flames of my enthusiasm by joining communities and meeting people who share this same sadomasochistic passion. This year will be my fourth NaNo and with some luck, my third win (oh oh, there I go counting chickens before they've hatched). I'm usually a sucker for shiny, literary pieces, but this year, I've decided to go with something simple, easy, and fun. A vampire high school romance.
(Yes, I did just say that with a semi-straight face.)
I look forward to getting to know you all in this coming month. Good luck to everyone tomorrow!
(Also, to those Western Hemisphere Wrimos-- is anyone planning on starting at midnight tonight?)
(And also, also: Hi, Kayla! Fancy meeting you here!)

My username is: cbanks (can't figure out my URL).
I need all the support and help I can get! So far I'm starting off well, but I seem to always end up stopping at about the 25K range. Hopefully this challenge will help me.

Add me as a writing buddy!

Good luck everyone!

Hi, Rishika, I'm Dianne. Don't sweat the lack of plot. I finished nano for the first time last year and started with three phrases that stuck with me the summer before. One of them is still in the novel despite the best effort of my characters. I'm trying to get the revision complete before this November.

I'm Anne (SilverRaindrops here & on NaNo), and this is my first year of trying NaNo for real.
I sort of started the last two years, but I had no plan, and a lot of other things to do, as nearly half my family and friends have their birthday in November.
So this year I am planning ahead, and actually working out what I want to write chapter for chapter, and I hope it will work out :).
I have put three or four different ideas into this story, and nowit is epic fantasy with a Middle Eastern and South Asian setting :).

K.C., I'm doing that as well. I have also finished some writing prompts for my characters and setting, to get into the feel of it :).

Do you have a flash fiction you're really excited about or that holds your interest? You'll already have a base to work from and (hopefully!) inspiration, which is more than quite a few Wrimos have before November 1!
SilverRaindrops, epic fantasy in a Middle Eastern/South Asian setting? Sounds intriguing! (I'm a sucker for the epic fantasy genre. LOL)

Yes, I like it, and I figured that it is a setting that is interesting, but not over-used yet. Plus, their culture is just as old as ours, and has a lot of myths that you can incorporate :).
Not sure I've read any at all with that setting (although my memory is faulty, so who knows?), and incorporating myths is awesome! Not to mention all the material it'll give you, especially when you get stuck. Need a way to boost word count? Write in a full telling of the myth!
I'm a bad influence.
I wrote urban fantasy last year and am going mainstream fiction this year, which may not work nearly as well. Urban fantasy tends to be my main genre, so stepping outside makes me nervous. But the story demands to be written and won't leave my brain otherwise, so what can you do?

I've read some, but then I'm really interested in that sort of thing...
Good luck with the mainstream fiction. I've tried it once, but I could not get into it because it didn't excite me while writing it. I hope it works out for you though!

I do but that particular flash fiction is complicated. I never gave my characters gender, names, and the plot is kind of ambitious. I was focusing on a certain emotion and just letting the reader decide everything else depending on their own experiences. I love it that story but if I expand on it I will have to actually decide all that and I'm not sure I want to.
All I really know is that whatever I write will most likely be morbid.

I'm Lisa. This is my 6th, no 7th attempt at NaNo. Don't know yet if this year will be the charm or not. I don't have a real plan/plot/idea yet. All my ideas from the last 2 weeks ran away at the sight of my notebook LOL. I'm may just take my original NaNo novel idea and start from scratch.

This will be my second year taking part in NaNoWriMo and my first 'win.' I've changed my planning strategy this year and, instead of writing an outline, I've organized a loose 'network' of story elements I want to work towards and am writing my way towards them, having a lot of fun.
So far, things are working out better for me than last year, but I'm cursed with a different problem: now that I've settled on one plot, I'm getting tons of great ideas to write about. I'd love to spend time fleshing them out, but I don't have the time!
What follows is the best link I could find on NaNo. I hope it's the right one!
Hope you all reach your goals!
-Toby

I am Strawberry-Ringo, aka April. This is going to be my fourth year doing NaNoWriMo. I wish I'd have known there was a group on here sooner. lol
I have won 2 out of the 3 times I have previously participated. I think I'm pretty decent at it. Throw together an outline and just write. It never goes as planned for me and suddenly I'm left wondering how it even fits into my original idea. But at least it's there. Haha. Last year was the hardest because I had two jobs, however I won...somehow.
I wish everyone on here luck in NaNoing this year! Even if you don't win, at least you can say you wrote something. :)
