welcome aboard this group for adventurous people who don't especially like groups and who especially do not like being told what to read. It is also for people who like groups and love suggestions. We will never ask this membership to read the same book at the same time, unless, of course the entire membership decides overwhelmingly to do so, in which case I will probably gnash my teeth and attempt to comply. Rather, this group will focus more on process and questions about reading, and our shelves reflect, not so much our favorite books but starter books and certain important topics that can be referred to in times of uncertainty.A group task is not so much to discuss the books themselves, although of course we will when we want to, but more to shape the shelves so that they can be a useful resource. This group is meant to be thought provoking and fun. Please feel free to pick up any of the threads and swing with it. Topics are open to suggestions.
Magdelanye-I for one will never ask the whole group to read the same book at the same time! I've discovered that that's the surest way for me not to read a book or read it so slowly I feel like a failure!
I love the premise of this group & so far it has certainly been true to it!
