the authors or books mentioned in GLAPPPS ? (glappps is my new acronymn for the book)

I looked up Charles Lamb and just started reading Oscar Wilde's Dorian Gray.
Do you think there is signifigance in the books she mentioned?

Laura (apenandzen) | 1445 comments I'm sure there is, Tera, but so far I haven't read any of the authors yet. Is she a GR author, it would be neat if we could hear her thoughts.

Meg (megvt) | 3069 comments I have written to her to see if she would do a book chat with us, so far I haven't heard back yet. I am really hoping that she does because I think it would be very interesting.

Laura (apenandzen) | 1445 comments It would be great if she would! That's been the neatest thing about joining CoL for me. First time reading a book w/a group AND first time discussing a book I read w/its author. Totally cool.

Lydia (loverofinformation) I was so pleased to see the reference to the Domesday Book, which I had just taught the Thursday before. Domesday is one of the first Directories every put together, but William the Conqueror, which listed all people and was organized by fief and county. It was used for taxing purposes.

My interest is in the reference to Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. I read it so long ago and I do not remember being confused about the terms used for the various professions.

I really did enjoy this book and will be recommending it to my students.

Meg (megvt) | 3069 comments You certainly add a fund of knowledge to this book. Thank you so much for sharing all of this on this thread and the other. Hope you will be able to make our author chat.
