Hello Everyone, we need to start thinking about our next Group Read to start from 12th September. All suggestions will be gratefully received.

Lauli What about Saramago? I'd like to give him another go, because I only read one book by him and didn't like it. I think Blindness and The Year of the Death of Ricardo Reis are some of his best known books.

Yes, I wouldn't mind a Saramago having been impressed by The Notebook a year or so ago. Which one would you like to nominate?

Lauli Shall we go with Blindness? I've heard good things about it

OK, our first nomination is Blindness by Jose Saramago. Any more nominations?

Glad you enjoyed Exile and the Kingdom, it's strange, after years on not reading short stories much, I feel I could easily become an addict. (I have recently had to do an essay on a short story by Carver and that re-kindled my interest in short fiction generally.)
