Just little ol' NZ at this point! Have your say in the polls re Challenge 2.

According to the polls, members of the Book Loving Kiwis are keen to read books set in countries other than NZ for Challenge 2. I'm all for this too!
As of December, Challenge 2 will become the 'Other Countries' category.
How do we want this to work?
A couple of ideas...
1. We nominate any book from any country that takes our fancy.
2. We have a letter of the month e.g. 'A' and we nominate books for countries beginning with this letter e.g. Australia - Jessica, Antarctica - Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage (letter chosen from a random draw).
Any other ideas/comments?
I'm looking forward to this challenge beginning. It seems fitting that Challenge 2 for November is Night which is set in Poland. This will get us warmed up for our new challenge. I hope you enjoy it.

Ooh! Like the idea of the letters. I think it's too broad otherwise.

I like the letter idea too. I have visions of me sorting through my Scrabble tiles for one of each letter and pulling one randomly out of a hat. One of those Pictionary dice would probably be better! Oh how sad!! Don't worry people, school/work starts back next week! I seriously need to get out more :0)
I've seen other groups work through the alphabet - one country for each letter, but I'd like it to be a bit more random than that.

Yep. I like the random letters idea too.
Does anyone know if there actuall ARE countries beginning with every letter in the alphabet? We may have to take some of those scrabble tiles out of the hat.

Just googled 'countries of the world alphabetically' and the only letter that doesn't feature is 'X'.
Only one for 'Y' = Yemen and 'Q' = Qatar.
Can't wait to start this challenge in December. Actually, pretty excited about what letter it will be and what books we can find to read.

Could be fun!
