This is probably late for the discussion since the book is wrapped already but I'm also curious as to how the names are spelled, since I had the audiobook. Corrections welcome.

Zula (sp?): ZOO-la

Sokolov: so-KO-luff

Csongor: SHAWN-gore

There are a bunch of minor terrorist characters that I can't rememember off the top of my head, but if you can give me the name I can check the audiobook.

You can't take foreign stuff that he says as the correct way for pronouncing it. At least for the Russian words, he kept mispronouncing them badly.

Even in the names you gave above, the correct way to pronounce Ivanov is to have the stress on the last syllable.

For the few Russian words in the book, he mangled them even worse. For example, Germaniya (Germany). He pronounced the G the same way that it's pronounced in English - "Germany". The way to pronounce the G is as in the word "Great". Russian doesn't have the J sound normally, and if it's needed to pronounce foreign names/words, it's spelled with 2 letters.

I'm sure he mispronounced other languages in similar ways.

I'm guessing at some of the stress placements. I kept hearing it on the second syllable, but it could easily have been the last.

Csongor is Hungarian. In Hungarian, cs is pronounced the same as ch in English church so I believe it should be pronounced CHON gor. Not SHON gor. The letter s alone usually pronounced as sh in English shed, for example the name Sandor is pronounced SHAN dor
