Wouldn't it be fun to fit a day around the Xmas time for dedicated reading?

There, and you can even pick which day(s) you want:

And not limited to US but GR didn't allow to make a worldwide listing. So, get ready - get some holiday foods, enjoyable drinks that go well with reading, and a pile of books. Those you want to read, those that are on your to be read pile, and if you need more to stack, a quick trip to a (second hand?) book store, amazon or your local library for supplies.

There, no excuses for not reading and enjoying the holiday. So go ahead and plan some reads, and read.

What are you going to read?
Or need suggestions? Shoot.

Jean I have my reads collected for the remainder of this year. They are:
The Submission, The Confession. The Sleeping Doll|1050383, and The Pyramid: And Four Other Kurt Wallander Mysteries and if time allows The Forgotten Affairs of Youth: An Isabel Dalhousie Novel I wish everyone an enjoyable holiday season.

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 4 comments I love this idea, Anna. I have next week off, but my challenge is that the days are slowly filling up with visits with friends!
I'd love to finish A Trick of the Light and
Bury Your Dead and get started on 11/22/63, which is a January group read in another GR group. Maybe Thursday or Friday. A nice snowstorm would help.. (don't tell people at work I said that!)

It is a fun idea. Strange that when in a solitary or reflective mood, reading is one of the first things that comes to mind - an activity which plunges you straight into other peoples' worlds - maybe it's symptomatic of frequent lack of sincerity in real time/life communication!

Jean Sorry that in post 2 I went on and on about what I am reading and failed to mention the day that I am dedicating to reading. Today is the day, I'm looking forward to snuggling down with a book all day.

Am doing a book signing for my own book today, but in quiet moments am also planning to take refuge in reading a book by somebody else!!

Les Aucoin (lesaucoin) | 4 comments In the days after Christmas, I'll curl up with Daniel Silva's The Secret Servant.

This is my second Daniel Silva read. With John le Carre continuing to disappoint in his twilight years, it's wonderful to turn to a master of espionage thrillers again.
