I have just finished Manto's selected stories and the last one was titled 'smell' or 'odour'. This is the story that he was tried in court for obscenity. I am going to start with Bama's 'Karuku' shortly. The word 'karuku' means palm leaf. We have grown up in society where many of us not had the chance to touch a palm leaf. it's razor sharp on all sides and it cuts when touched, so is the story.
