I am only three chapters away from finishing Clockwork Angel and will be buying Clockwork Prince since I own all of the books.

I really want to read it. Working on getting the first one read in time though. I do already have this one.

Questions for prologue - chapter 3

1) So we know from the prologue that Will likes a girl. How much you want to bet it's Tessa?

2) It's been a while since I read Clockwork Angel, did they ever say what the curse was that the smurfy demon put on Will? Does the quote from Dickens reveal anything?

3) What do you think of the training the girls are getting from Gabriel and Gideon.

4) What is Jessamine up to? Dressed in men's clothing?

5) Anyone else wonder what the weapon was the Mortmain's parents were developing?

Questions for prologue - chapter 3

1) So we know from the prologue that Will likes a girl. How much you want to bet it's Tessa?
I am positive it is Tessa. I think it eluded to it in Clockwork Angel, too.

2) It's been a while since I read Clockwork Angel, did they ever say what the curse was that the smurfy demon put on Will? Does the quote from Dickens reveal anything?
It hasn't been that long since I read the first book and I don't think they ever even mentioned the curse in it. I think it has something to do with being able to love someone without harm coming to them. It would make sense as to why he tries so hard to show no emotion.

3) What do you think of the training the girls are getting from Gabriel and Gideon.
I think it is definitely a good idea. I think the choice of people to do it may not be the best. Although, from Clare's other series we know somewhere down the line the Lightwoods end up being halfway decent so I am betting Gabriel becomes an ally before the end of the book. Anyone else agree?

4) What is Jessamine up to? Dressed in men's clothing?
Nothing good. I don't like her very much.

5) Anyone else wonder what the weapon was the Mortmain's parents were developing?
I am assuming it has something to do with the automatons from the last book, but I could be totally wrong.

6) Will isn't doing a very good job of staying away from Tessa. Bet she's confused.
She seems extremely confused. I would be too if a guy said horrible things to me and acted like he didn't want anything to do with me and then all of a sudden he wants to ask my opinions on books.

Laura, I thought it could be the flesh covered automatons too.

I so want to know what the exact words of the curse on Will are.

Hopefully the Lightwoods will ally with them. It'll be interesting to see how that happens, if it does.

Questions for Chapters 4- 7

7) Are you a Will or Jem fan?
I love them both but for different reasons. I think that Will is the one for Tessa though. Jem is so gentle and sweet you can't help but love him. Will makes you want to scream but then you see his softer side and you know he is just as sweet.

8) We now know what happened to Will to make him be some mean to Tessa. What did you make of the story? I almost wonder if the curse didn't really happen. What if the demon just told him that so he would be miserable? What a horrible thing for a little boy to have to deal with.

9) Could Jem's cures not be succeeding because of Will's curse?
I never thought of that but that is an interesting thought and a really different idea!

10) We hoped it couldn't be that easy, but yes Mortmain's parents created the clockwork army, but who exactly is Mortmain??? Who was the green man?
I still think he is the son of the two warlocks. I think the green man was Mr. Shade, the warlock. Tessa was seeing Starkweather's view of how things went down.

11) Any thoughts on what Tessa is? Do you think she's a warlock or something else? Could she be a cross of a demon with an angel?
I think she is something more than just a warlock. I am not sure what yet. It would be cool if she was half demon and half shadowhunter but I doubt it. I think the Mortal Instruments series would have been different if she was.

12) Did Starkweather have a role in the warlock's demise or was he in on the creation of the Clockwork Army?
Starkweather is fishy. I think he had a hand in making Tessa or he knows what she is. It would explain his shock at seeing her. He has something to do with the whole thing I think.

13) What did you think of Jem telling Tessa that she should continue to wear his ring?
He loves her and I don't think she really knows how much he does care for her. She is so wrapped up in Will. I think someone is going to get hurt.

14) I'm hoping this doesn't end up being a book that should be entitled, "Captain Obvious." Do you think Claire is lulling us into a false sense of all is as it seems and then she'll spring some mind blowing revelation on us?
I sure hope so. She did some of that in her other books but even those little twists seemed like "the obvious" twists. I guess maybe because I have read so many books. It's hard to surprise me nowadays.

I wondered that as well. It seemed like Magnus was hinting in that direction. His sister's death was very strange.

I agree something is up with Starkweather.

Questions for Chapters 8-10

16) What the heck happened between Will and Gabriel's sister? Any ideas? Could she have thrown herself at him? Did he do to her what he did to Tessa?

17) Will really did hit an all time low by doing drugs. Jem really took it hard.

18) I think someone needs to follow Jessamine.

19) What do you make of the werewolves using Yin Fen? Could it help them to build up an immunity to Silver?? Just a wild thought.

21) What do you make of Gideon's intentions toward Sophie? Genuine or is he after information or possibly both?

I was really shocked at how quickly this scene got steamy. It changed my whole perspective of her. I also was a little disappointed that we have the whole love triangle thing going on here. It seems to be a little more predominant than it was in the Mortal Instruments series.

16) What the heck happened between Will and Gabriel's sister? Any ideas? Could she have thrown herself at him? Did he do to her what he did to Tessa?
I am betting that it was really not as big of a deal as they are making it out to be. I kind of lean towards the her throwing herself at him. I don't think he would treat her like he is treating Tessa because I don't think he cared enough about her. The vibe that I am getting is that this is the first time he has felt so in love with a girl and because of this he is having a hard time staying away.

17) Will really did hit an all time low by doing drugs. Jem really took it hard.
I think he took it a little too far with that one. I have a lot of sympathy for him but there are just some lines you shouldn't cross.

18) I think someone needs to follow Jessamine.
Me too. I was surprised that Tessa didn't do just that when she saw her. It seems like Jessamine wearing boy clothing would be EXTREMELY out of character for her and would get me suspicious.

19) What do you make of the werewolves using Yin Fen? Could it help them to build up an immunity to Silver?? Just a wild thought.
Interesting thought Lisarenee! I think it is definitely going to come up again at a later date. I am surprised that so many different types of people seem to be mixed up in Mortmain's plot.

21) What do you make of Gideon's intentions toward Sophie? Genuine or is he after information or possibly both?
I think that it is both. He seems like a level headed guy who isn't too wrapped up in the family drama to see the truth of things. I also know that it a no no to be in a relationship with a mundane so I can't see him pursuing it. That makes me think he could be after info.

22) What did you make of what Gabriel said about Henry being paid to marry Charlotte? I was glad Sohphie slapped him.
It actually wouldn't be too hard to believe, but even if it were true, no one should say those things in public. I am glad she slapped him too.

I think eventually they will end up together. I just don't see Jem and Tessa as a couple.

The Yin Fen kind of reminded me of when I was younger. I had tons of allergies and one of the other patients was a girl about my age. She had only one allergy that I was aware of and it was a doozie. She was allergic to her own hair. Crazy, right? The doctor was attempting to have her grow her hair out hoping she'd gradually get over the allergy--I believe he had first given her shots in an attempt to build up her immunity. For some reason I'm wondering if that is what the silver in the Yin Fen might be able to do.

24) I wonder if Jessamine would still have something going with Nate, but being married to him?

25) Benedict Lightwood in cahoots with Mortmain? Gah! How could he?

26) Jessamine was really willing to screw her friends over. Sounds like she and Nate make a perfect match.

27) Why does Nate believe Tessa isn't his sister? If not then who is she? And what was that about her being a Changeling but not? I'm a little confused.

28) Now Tessa's all hot and steamy for Will. Did will drink the lemonade?

29) Do you think the Magister still wants to marry Tessa? Woman were pretty much seen as property back then.

30) Totally crazy thought here--I was thinking how the next book is entitled Clockwork Princess...Could Tessa be related to Starkweather? Could she be the Clockwork Princess? Could they have switched her?

31) So is Jem avoiding Tessa because he doesn't want Tessa to see him sick? I'm a little confused and I bet she is too.

That is really crazy, although, I am reading this book Don't Kill the Birthday Girl: Tales from an Allergic Life and it has really opened my eyes to different types of allergies and the different severities they have with different people. I never realized the crazy allergies people have. They were talking about this same idea with peanuts in this book, so I can see where that would be a possible conclusion.

Questions for Chapters 11 - 12

24) I wonder if Jessamine would still have something going with Nate, but being married to him?
I was actually not expecting it to be Nate at all. I was totally surprised. Jessamine seems so much about herself that I thought after the last book she would have been done with him. I am wondering exactly what other ways Nate was planning on using her.

25) Benedict Lightwood in cahoots with Mortmain? Gah! How could he?
What a sorry excuse for a shadowhunter. I am so sickened by the whole thing. My question is how is it that none of the other shadowhunters know how crazy he is?


26) Jessamine was really willing to screw her friends over. Sounds like she and Nate make a perfect match.
Well I guess they were never really friends to begin with. She has been such a pain in the you know what all this time. I am surprised however that she would fall for the lies of Nate all over again.

27) Why does Nate believe Tessa isn't his sister? If not then who is she? And what was that about her being a Changeling but not? I'm a little confused.
I think it has something to do with the fact that she is not completely human. Nate feels that she is something evil because of this fact and because of that he doesn't want people to associate him with her. I am confused by the whole changeling conversation too. I wonder what sort of hidden agenda Hyacinth had?

28) Now Tessa's all hot and steamy for Will. Did will drink the lemonade?
I am wondering that myself. I find it hard to believe that all of a sudden he would be acting the way he is and letting his guard down so easily without the aid of a relaxing drink.

29) Do you think the Magister still wants to marry Tessa? Woman were pretty much seen as property back then.
If he does it is because he wants to control what she can do. I can't see him as wanting to marry her for any other reason.

That is a very interesting thought. I thought that Mortmain was the Clockwork Prince because of the whole scene with the Shades where he mentions it. I wonder if it is going to have something to do with the clockwork angel that she wears around her neck?

I think it has to do too with their behavior. I don't think Tessa even knows who she wants to be with. She is so fickle, probably has to do with the fact that she is a teenager.

36) So do you think Jessamine is correct that Tessa is part Shadowhunter and Demon? Interesting that no one thinks this is even a possibility.

37) Do you think Mortmain is in Idris? I'm thinking he is.

38) Looks like Gabriel and Shophie are a couple. It will be interesting to see if he truly is trustworthy. I just don't see him turning against his dad and brother.

Questions for Chapters 4- 7

I love them both in their own way. I love how sweet Jem is. But, I love how Will acts like such a bad boy.

I feel horrible for him. Because, if the curse is real, then that puts everyone else in danger. Well, anyone who falls in love with him. I do believe that the curse is real because of what happened to Ella.

9) Could Jem's cures not be succeeding because of Will's curse?
That's a good theory. It's definitely a possibility. Because we know Jem loves Will like a brother. And if the curse kills those who love him, then it would make sense that the cures don't work.

10) We hoped it couldn't be that easy, but yes Mortmain's parents created the clockwork army, but who exactly is Mortmain??? Who was the green man?
It had to be the clockworks. If not, where did the title come from? Lol. But, I still don't understand where Mortmain comes in at. I'm guessing the green man was John Shades dad, possibly? I'm just confused.

Tessa is still a mystery to me. But, the cross is a good idea. Like a Shadowhunter crossed with a warlock or whatever. I hope they figure it out soon. I'm still curious.

He is still someone to watch. He has his moments where I think he may be against the army. But, something just doesn't sit right about him. I can't put my finger on it just yet. He still seems a little twisted for an old guy.

I thought it was really sweet of him. It shows he cares! I still can't decide who I want her to be with though.

I hope it's not obvious too, but I have a feeling it could be. Of course somethings are going to be obvious. I just don't want to know what's going to happen through the rest of the book. Right now, I like being confused. I like not knowing what to expect. So, I hope that doesn't change.

Are warlocks usually green? Could the green man be a demon? Could a demon disguise himself as a warlock?

From little bits I have gathered about the warlocks, I think they can be many colors. They also seem to have other features; some have tails, some have weird eyes, etc.

I am beginning to wonder if he is going to survive the book. He seems to be getting progressively worse.

It was a very interesting idea though. I don't think we have the full story on the werewolves role yet.

35) Magnus and Camille's relationship was interesting to see. I chucked at:

This was a very funny scene, especially since we know from the Mortal Instruments series that Magnus becomes partial to men. I wasn't surprised to see Camille be a "hussy." It seems that the Vampires are made out to be not so nice in these books.

I think it would explain a lot of things that make her different from other warlocks. I am not ready to say though that it is true.

I think he has been hiding in plain sight. I am wondering how he would have gotten to Idris?

I want to believe that he is truly a good guy, but like you said Lisarenee, I don't see him turning against his brother. The fact that Tessa seemed so upset to see them together makes me wonder if she knows something.

39) Henry was actually talkative. What do you think about Jessamine going to the Silent City?
I think the spoiled brat needed to go there. I think she needs some punishment for putting everyone in danger. She is entirely to selfish for her own good.

Me too. I am not understanding how she could have all these steamy scenes with two guys when she is still not sure which one she cares about in this way. Wouldn't that just be leading them on?

Do you think he got in too deep and couldn't get out or do you think he was as mean as he first appeared. He kept insisting Mortmain wasn't going to hurt Tessa.

49) If Jem marries Tessa will Mortmain leave her alone? Won't her being married to someone else ruin his plans?

50)Now we know why Lightwood was tied to Mortmain--Demon Pox. How did you like Will's song?

Questions for Chapters 16 - 19

I thought it was scary. If Henry's invention hadn't worked they would all have been dead or injured badly.

43) Do you believe what Nate said at the end? We still don't know everything there is about the clockwork angel necklace.
I am not sure what to believe about what he said. People say a lot of things when they are getting ready to die. We have seen so much hatred and selfishness from him, it is hard to believe that he would actually want to help her.

44) Will really does love her and so does Jem.
I know and I care about them both. Whatever happens I think everyone is going to be sad.

It's about time! I did think it was very sweet, however, it is something done in books and movies so often that it is very cliche.

I do feel sorry for her but at the same time I am so angry with her. What she did could have hurt or killed someone if Sophie had not seen the invitation.

I hope that he was just in too deep and that he just turned mean. I don't want to believe that he had always been such a selfish, evil person. I was shocked about the whole cousin revelation. He killed his own Mother!

49) If Jem marries Tessa will Mortmain leave her alone? Won't her being married to someone else ruin his plans?
I didn't think about that, but what if he never truly wanted to marry her in the first place? I think he will still try to get her for her powers

I do think that Mortmain will do something with Benedict but I don't know what it will be. He is going to be angry because now he has no hold over the shadowhunters. I think you are on to something with the Benedict Arnold reference!

I personally think lying is never good, even when you are lying to try and not hurt someone. It always causes problems down the road. I think it will lead to some heavey regret as well.

I actually expected someone to get mad. I don't know why but I did. I think someone should have been a bit concerned by it all. Surely Tessa and Will have not been that good at hiding their feelings for each other. It just seems a little off.

There definitely wasn't as much action as the other books and Clare left a lot unsaid. I didn't feel like there was any closure of anything but I guess that is going to make me read the next one because otherwise I didn't find this the best book in the world.

I don't think so. He seems very honorable and loving. I can't see him changing his view of her just because he sees what she does from day to day.

Totally agree. Of all Clare's books so far this is the weakest.
