Samantha The Escapist WTF Seriously. No resolution? Why the sharp pain in his abdomen if it was nothing at all. I know most people are saying she just wanted him to leave and that was the source of her amusement. But I'm still pissed about the abdomen thing. It seems a very stupid red herring.

Or maybe the implication IS that he's now steryl and she doesn't have the heart to tell him. Which is lucky since he leaves a virgin anyway so he wouldn't be finding out.

Maybe she took his appendix. Seriously, though, I thought there were quite a few things in the series that were brought up and then never came up again or amounted to anything, which was kind of disappointing.

Kasey I was watching an interview about Inheritance and Paolini said that throughout the book (and book 3), he placed random threads in book 4 (e.g. --- the woman with the scars, the children hostages, the lady who saved Roran, Tenga, Angela still. remaining. a. complete. mystery., the Menoa Tree's true meaning of what she wanted from Eragon) so he could continue writing about Alagaesia later on. But since it's CP and the fact that he said he wants to write other books before returning to Alagaesia, it will be another 15 years possibly before we see anything. And then again he also said in this interview that Inheritance was the most technically well written book out of the series and he has improved as a writer, so the pain in Eragon's stomach could mean nothing or be a new story line for future Alagaesia novels...

"The case of the Missing Appendix....hmmm...could possibly be found with Charlie's missing kidney? Brilliant!"

Samantha The Escapist Sigh. That is a rare type of cruelty. He should have just given me a splinter under my thumbnail.

It's the same thing. It sucks, I have every capacity to get rid of it/get over it but until I do it's going to drive me nuts.

Edit to add: I have no problem with mysterious characters, I prefer having some of those. But this isn't your typical artfully-loose-end, it's intentionally infuriating. Literate blue balls.

Alana I think that the Menoa Tree made Eragon sterile. It kind of makes sense, because if she wasn't happy with the one that she loved, she wouldn't want anyone else to be happy with the people that they love, including Eragon.
