M.P. Gunderson | 7 comments When I first read Dune back in my 20s, I was, like many, intrigued by its many complexities. Years later, I'm still trying to sort the book out in my mind, what its ultimate intent is. Is it some sort of condemnation of jihadism? Is Paul just a pawn in the prophecies that are assigned to him? Is Herbert suggesting we keep politics and religion separate? There's quite a bit of ideas in the book about issues like this. I'd be interested in what other people think.
