Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments Does anyone here read the Redwall series by Brain Jacqunes? I love those books with Mossflower being my favorite with Racket Tam tying for second with Taggerun.

Haley I LOVE THOSE BOOKS! I literally think I might own them all... My friend had me read Martin the Warrior in like fourth grade or something, and since then every time I went to a bookstore I came out with at least one of the Redwall books that I didn't own yet. He has a couple new ones that I never read, but other than that I was obsessed! They were so good! Umm... I loved Mossflower too, and Rackkety Tam, and Taggerung, and then Lord Brocktree, Mariel of Redwall, and Martin the Warrior were some of my favorites as well. I don't think I could put them in an order, though even though it was the saddest I think Martin the Warrior was my very favorite. Maybe because it was the first one I read.

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments My sister read me Mossflower when I 9 and for my 13th Christmas my aunt gave me Redwall, Meriel of Redwall, outcast of Redwall and the Bellmaker. I own all the book except the newest two. I was so sad when Brian Jacques died, but I think his son is doing a good job with finishing those last tow book. Martin the Warrior is one of those very few books that made me cry and again I love it. I can't read it anymore because the ending is so sad, but I wish I could.

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments What did you think of Loam-hedge? I was really shocked by the ending but was glad of it too. I think because most of the books have happy endings and few if any lead charters die that when they do it is a really shock but makes the book feel more real.

I confess after reading my first Redwall book I was careful not to step on any little animals and watch them closely to see if they were on a quest.

♠ TABI⁷ ♠ (tabi_card) I LOVE this series!!!!!! I've read the first seven (and own them) and I want to read the rest soon. My bro, Jade, has read them all and he teases me because I haven't. ;) The story behind that, is that I'm usually the one reading everything first...lol ;)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments My bro read "Wealth of Nations" and now won't stop badgering me to read it, when usually it is the other way around. Brothers are so fun.

♠ TABI⁷ ♠ (tabi_card) Aren't they? ;)

Haley I read them in elementary school, and I always have a soft spot for book I loved when I was little. Of course there are better books, but these will never stop being amazing, in my opinion.

Lauren (lauren0924) I read these when I was younger and remember loving them! I should re-read them as I'm not sure I read them all.

Yeah, I still love re-reading my old fairytales and bedtime stories my mom used to read to me. The stories you hear when you're little just stick with you. :)

A few of them are really deep, but the plot is mostly the same. However the charters are so lovable. But I will always recommend them to kids because they are easy to read and just plain good fun adventure books.

Yeah, after you've read about two or three, you can pretty much guess the plots of the other ones...but I agree, they're still really good, fun reads. :)

Paige I adore these books, and they stay close to my heart. I also started reading these when I was young and have kept collecting them, and reading them into adulthood. They make me remember all that is pure and right in the world.

Who else gets incredibly hungry when reading these books? Sometimes I feel like Jacques spent 50% of the books describing delicious feasts!

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments Likewise! Oh my goodness it was impossible for me to read one of the feasts without having to go get a snack, noways I usually just glaze over those parts and get back to the dialog. I think Jacques had a piece of paper with all the food he came up with and just rearranged them fro every feast.

Paige agreed! lol

Haley The food sounded SO GOOD. It's one of my goals in life to be part of a feast like that someday after reading these books :)

Paige We should make this happen lol!

You know that there is a Redwall cookbook...:) And yeah, every time I read about the feasts, my mouth starts watering. :)

Paige Where is said cookbook???

♠ TABI⁷ ♠ (tabi_card) Ummm, out and about in the book world. You can get it on Amazon. Just look up Brian Jacques Redwall Cookbook.

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments Oh yeah I heard, but sadly I can never afford it when I make an order from Amazon.

♠ TABI⁷ ♠ (tabi_card) Oh, I can never afford everything I want in one fell swoop. I'd seriously need a million bucks to accomplish that. ;)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments So I am thinking of re-reading this series this year. I haven't read 'em in about two years, not since the last one came out, and haven't read the series in even longer. Any of you folk planing on reading some of these this year? Which one would you read first?

♠ TABI⁷ ♠ (tabi_card) Redwall....the first one XD

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments Well....you know *cough* Mossflower is technically first ;D And at any rate it was the fist one I ever red and is still my favorite. But I read it last summer and I haven't read "Redwall" in a couple of years, so I might start with that one anyways.

♠ TABI⁷ ♠ (tabi_card) Well there's actually a few before that one XD my bro would know how they go in chronological order lol

Haley I figured out once upon a time which order they should actually go in, but I have absolutely no idea how they should go now :) I do know I read Martin the Warrior first and that's why I fell in love with the series.

♠ TABI⁷ ♠ (tabi_card) I think the chronological order is posted somewhere lol....:)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments I used to stack mine in order, but once they got tipped over and it was a while before I could get them picked up and by then it was all over.

♠ TABI⁷ ♠ (tabi_card) Lol I have mine in order and my sibs know that if they don't keep them in that order when they're done reading them...the beast awakens lol

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) | 3184 comments Hahahah!!! Sounds like me :D My brother actually asked me the other day of he put one of my timothy Zahn books in the right place, I was so shocked I almost couldn't answer.

♠ TABI⁷ ♠ (tabi_card) Haha! XD Well everyone knows that they don't even touch my books unless I've given them permission lol....I'm very careful of my library...since every book is hard earned with my own money lol ;)

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) Love this series! I have collected them all, and am working my way through slowly. I like how Jacques describes food....it always makes my mouth water! :)
