Crystal Caldwell What a cool idea, I love it! Since I am starting this a bit late I am not entirely of all the books I have read so far in 2012...But there are a couple I am sure of, so I'll list those first - and I not counting books I started and didn't finish :)

Edit: I also have more time since I had my son March 8th of this year and am going to be a stay at home mom, so there will prob be a few baby/parenting books on the list.

Crystal Caldwell #5
Confessions of a Pagan Nun: A Novel by Kate Horsley

This book was beautifully written and very good, but so depressing. Having had a baby a month ago my emotions are still high, and reading about the infant was almost more than I could take.

Crystal Caldwell #6
American Parent: My Strange and Surprising Adventures in Modern Babyland by Sam Apple

Very good and interesting book. I loved all the information on where some our ideas and parenting practices come from.

Crystal Caldwell #7
A Simple Plan by Scott B. Smith

Wow. This book was just...wow. A very depressing story, but definitely worth reading. Highly recommended.

When the Women Come Out to Dance by Elmore Leonard

I actually only read "Fire in the Hole", cause that was the only short story in this book I was interested in reading. It is the short story the series Justified is based on, and since I love Justified I felt I needed to check it out. Very much like the Pilot episode, I liked this short story.

Crystal Caldwell #9
Wicked Appetite by Janet Evanovich

It wasn't a great book, but I guess it wasn't too terrible. I had started reading it the middle of march, got through about 6 chapters and stopped cause I didn't like it. Last night I picked it up because I had nothing else I wanted to start reading before I picked up my library books today. An easy, fast read. I might check out the next in the series when it comes out, but I won't be buying it. Guess Evanovich isn't exactly my cup of tea.

Crystal Caldwell #10
Riding the Rap by Elmore Leonard

Actually alot better than I thought it would be. I liked it better than Pronto, which is the first book Raylan Givens was introduced in. I felt myself really rooting for Harry Arno, and I think liked his character in this book more than Raylan. Can't wait to read Raylan by Elmore Leonard, the next book that features the main character of the tv series Justified.

Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil by John Berendt

It took me a little longer to finish than I though it would, but it was a good book. I'm glad I stuck in there. I really loved some of the characters like Chablis and Joe Odom. I would love to google some of the people and see what they looked like and read a bit more about them but in the end of the book he says he changed names for privacy and I'm sure the people I'd want to look up are among the ones changed - oh well. Good read :)

Crystal --

(and maybe the regular version, too) has a "Meet the Real People" feature! It's great... kind of trippy to hear the real stories, which aren't far off (if at all) from the wild story of the book.
