Tina, in the future could you please repost rather than update? It makes my updates much easier. Thanks!

I don;t know if my buddy read it but I did and I didn't like it that much. It was a YA book that was too campy for me. I give it two stars. Daffodil if you like it great. If not let me know!"

No, I haven't gotten to it yet. I have finished two of your picks for me though.

I loved Killing Floor (Jack Reacher, #1) by Lee Child . I have a long standing relationship with John Sandford's Lucas Davenport novels and have never found a gritty mystery series that I enjoyed nearly as much. Killing Floor isn't the same (I wouldn't want it to be), but I was reminded of the Prey books and will definitely be trying more in this series.

I also read Enclave (Razorland, #1) by Ann Aguirre . I have mixed feelings for Ann Aguirre. As much as I love what I've read of her Sirantha Jax series, I really disliked the first Corine Solomon book. Thankfully, Enclave was one I enjoyed. The world building was fascinating and I'm interested to see what comes next.

I wanted a change of pace, so I decided to pick up Proof by Seduction (Carhart, #1) by Courtney Milan for my third choice and I'm enjoying it so far.

message 505: by Ty (new)

Ty | 1943 comments Finished my 2nd pick, The Summer I Turned Pretty. Didn't know it was part of a trilogy - it was good, but not sure if I will pick up the rest of the series.

Passion Unleashed (Demonica, #3) by Larissa Ione The Summer I Turned Pretty (Summer, #1) by Jenny Han

Thank you Suzanne H. for putting Backstage Pass on my list. I absolutely loved it. Whooo *fans face* that was some series heat! This is now going on my re-read list and recommend to all who want a Hot read for the summer.

So I finished Proof by Seduction (Carhart, #1) by Courtney Milan during my lunch hour. Overall, I enjoyed the book and will probably pick up the next one to get Ned's story.

I then attempted to start Paranormalcy (Paranormalcy, #1) by Kiersten White . After about 2 pages, I dozed off and finished off my break with a 20 minute nap instead of a good read. LOL. I'm not sure if that's a true indicator of my enjoyment, since I only got about 4 hours of sleep last night and 5 hours the night before. We'll see what happens the next time I pick it up.

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 741 comments Kami I just finished After the Kiss (Notorious Gentlemen, #1) by Suzanne Enoch and loved it! I don't think I'd ever read one where the illegitimate, unacknowledged son of nobility gets the girl over his half brother. Thanks for picking this off my list and getting me to read it :)

Daffodil, I couldn't get into Paranormalcy either. It may not be a fluke ;)

Lekshmy, I took the easy way out and packed my copy of
Outlaw Love. Just finished it, I think I have actually read it before when it first came out, a long, long time ago. I like re-reading some of these so it was great fun. I plan on writing it up, but haven't yet. Thanks for the push to read it again.
I will try to get another one in, not sure which one yet but I still like all the choices to choose from.

Hope your reading is going well also.

Megan L Harnett | 806 comments Hi Leslie,

Ok so I just finished Waterfall (River of Time, #1) by Lisa Tawn Bergren ! It was a great book!! I couldn't put it down and read the majority of it in one afternoon/evening! I can't wait to read the rest of the series! Thank you for the great recommendation!

Fran | 12213 comments Kat and I finished Seeing Double, we read it as a buddy read. I didn't think it was well written. It was a fast read and a cute premise, but not well executed.

Thanks for reading it with me Kat, it's always fun to chat about books with you- even the not great ones!

Megan L - I am so glad you liked it. I am not a huge YA fan, but I really liked this one as well. I haven't read the next one yet. Let me know if you do! I'm glad you've liked your recs!

I just finished Tempting Danger (World of the Lupi, #1) by Eileen Wilks and I loved it! It was a little confusing at first, but then I really got into the story and the characters. Thanks so much for giving me a great new series to become addicted to!
I'm not sure if I'll get to Moon Called (Mercedes Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs this month, but I will definitely be reading it soon.
Thanks again for some great recommendations!

Thanks right back at you! I agree with your assessment, it could have been much better than it was. Oh well! Next time, I hope we can find a good one to read together!!

Are you still interested in doing a buddy read with Rogue (Shifters, #2) by Rachel Vincent ? It had been a few years since I read Stray, so I reread it and am willing to continue on to book 2 any time you wish. Just let me know.

I finished Paranormalcy (Paranormalcy, #1) by Kiersten White last night. It was okay -- not a total disaster but it felt a little off to me. The first part felt like a MIB - Sanctuary mashup that tried too hard. Trying to figure out exactly what Evie was kept me interested and reading, but I'm not really motivated to pick up any more in this series either.

I picked up One Reckless Summer (Destiny, #1) by Toni Blake for my next read and it's been great so far.

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Penney, finished Shiver of Fear last night. A little too much cloak and dagger for me but I enjoyed it. A solid 3+ read. I'll certainly read the third in the series.

Penney, you are 2/2 in PIFM books this month!

I don't know if I'll read Broken before Mexico or not.

message 533: by Alexis (new)

Alexis (LexaReads) | 375 comments Hey Tina I just finished another pick from you, Exclusively Yours. I thought it was really cute, and a very quick read. I did find the main heroine to be really annoying though. If I were Joe I wouldn't have put up with her. Thanks for a great pick!!

message 534: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments I finished up Murder at Black Dog Springs which was my GLBT pick by Sarah - this has been on the pile for a while and i'm glad that I finally read it - its not long, but you could tell that the author knew her Navajo history - as 3 of the 4 main characters were code talkers during WW2

message 535: by Nancy H (new)

Nancy H | 1097 comments Carla, I just read The Earth Hums in B Flat, and it was fabulous!! I am so glad you recommended it. I love reading books set in Wales, and this one was extraordinarily good. The main character reminds me a lot of the girl in the Alan Bradley series that starts with The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie - another great series.
You have given me great recs. Now I have to decide which of the others to read next- and so many of them look so good. Thanks!

message 538: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments I also finished up Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs this morning on the drive into work - Sarah and I did it as a buddy read. enjoyed it - but overall, I do think her werewolf series is better - maybe because Jane was her first series and the werewolf books came later...

I think i'm done for the month, Sarah did also recommend Before I Fall but i'm going to hold it until July because it fits into another challenge I have starting then
