annie k (rawannie) Hello, all!

I'm Annie, mother of 4 boys, library & reading addict, weaver of tales...

I LOVE the concept of this group & just had to join! Looking forward to participating :)

message 104: by Toni (new)

Toni (tonibettencourt) Hi everyone! My name is Toni, and I just found this group today. I love to read, and will read just about any genre. I am 40 years old, and have lived in California most of my life except for the two years I lived in Seattle, WA. I have a 16 year old daughter who loves to read as much as I do and we often share books. Which means I read quite a few YA books. I love dystopian novels, mysteries, and too many others to name. I would be lost without my Kindle and would probably be a lot poorer too.

Amara Tanith (aftanith) | 733 comments Welcome to you, too, Toni! :)

Welcome to the group!

Reading is my passion - I am an Elementary School Librarian, so I read many childrens books, but try to keep busy with books for me too! I am super excited to be part of a book club - finally for me!!

Moor. (beardedelder) | 8 comments You too :) And thank you!

message 114: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (danielleeyypop) Hey everyone! I'm Danielle, I'm in college. I joined this group because it sounds way better to read books by theme rather than a book could possibly bore me. I love YA book, paranormal romance, some mystery and thrillers. Right now I'm reading Marked from the House of Night series.

Marie-Claude aka MC | 91 comments Welcome Danielle!
House of Night, eh?! I LOVED that series when it started. I don't care much about it anymore, it's just dragging on way too long! LOL Oh well, the first couple of books were pretty good! =)

message 116: by Tammy (new)

Tammy | 54 comments Hi all! I am Tammy and a lifelong avid reader. I like a wide variety of books, but particularly historical fiction and biography.

message 117: by Amara, Group Creator (new)

Amara Tanith (aftanith) | 733 comments Welcome to Danielle and Tammy! :)

message 118: by Nikolina (new)

Nikolina | 5 comments Hi, I'm Nina, and I am from Croatia! Like many here I am also an avid reader :)
This is the first group I've joined because it looks really interesting! I read all sorts of books, but my favorite are historical novels

message 119: by Vikki (new)

Vikki (silverstarz) Love the idea of this group!

I'm Vikki, 26, from Northern Ireland. I've been a bookworm since I was old enough to read. Even before then I loved my parents or anyone else reading stories for me. I'm kinda addicted, I find it hard to walk out of a bookstore empty handed... my to-read pile keeps growing instead of shrinking. I read a mixture of books.... paranormal, chick lit, crime, historical fiction, classics. Whatever grabs my attention really.

message 120: by Amara, Group Creator (new)

Amara Tanith (aftanith) | 733 comments Hi and welcome, Nikolina and Vikki! :)

message 121: by Anne (new)

Anne (ncanne) It is so wonderful to meet so many book lovers!

Marie-Claude aka MC | 91 comments I agree with you Anne!!! This is my first bookclub ever and I'm enjoying it so much!!

Discovered GR just a couple of weeks ago... I'm COMPLETELY hooked. I have found SO many new books that I need to read, it's incredible!! =)

message 123: by Anne (new)

Anne (ncanne) Yeah! I just discovered GR a few weeks ago too and my to read list just gets bigger and bigger. Good thing I'm a fairly fast reader, otherwise I'd never make a dent in it. It's just great to be able to talk to others who are so enthusiastic about reading. My motto comes from the anime "Read or Die"

message 124: by Claire-Jane (new)

Claire-Jane Good morning everyone - Love the idea of this group as it may help me to clear the stacks of books awaiting my attention by looking at them in a slightly different way . . .

I'm Claire, 37 years old and from the UK and I love to read.

message 125: by Amara, Group Creator (new)

Amara Tanith (aftanith) | 733 comments Nice to meet you, and welcome to the group, Claire! :)

message 126: by Carol (new)

Carol (carolsaltsgaver) Hi, my name is Carol and I just joined this group. I read a lot and enjoy receiving suggestions from others as to what I should read. I live in Springfield, IL, but I have lived in many different places in the US. I teach math, but I still love to read.

message 127: by Siobhan (new)

Siobhan (siobhanann) Hello! I'm Siobhan, a 40-something mother of two adult children and servant to two tabby cats from the wilderness of the Lake Superior region of Canada. While my reading tastes have changed (evolved?) through the years, I have always been an avid reader and my overflowing walls of bookshelves contain (barely) an astoundingly eclectic collection.
I recently encountered a lovely older gentleman in a Toronto bookstore who was browsing for something new and he said, "As I get older and my time gets shorter, I find myself becoming much more strict about what I devote my reading time to. It has to be meaningful." That's the closest I've come to hugging a complete stranger - and yet a close comrade, it seems - in a very long time :)

message 128: by Cassie (new)

Cassie (CassieWinters) Howdy! My name is Eric. I am currently a full-time student at Ball State University in Indiana. I am majoring in Social Work and minoring in Residential Property Management. I live with my parter and our three cats. Within the last year I have become a voracious reader. I had not read in over roughly 15 years (I am 31). I found myself wanting to read more and started this year with almost anything I could get my hands on. I have enjoyed finding out more about my reading desires. I discovered that I love a good mystery and a tear-jerker more than other genres, but that I can honestly read almost anything if I put my mind to it. I appreciate that while I may not like a particular book that someone out there may feel differently, so I always try to find the good in what I read, even if I hate it.

message 129: by Sarah. B (new)

Sarah. B Hi! I`m Sarah, I`m 28 and just found this group. It sounds like fun. Hopefully, it will help me read a wider variety of books and get some good
recommendations.

Marie-Claude aka MC | 91 comments Welcome welcome everyone!!

Amara, you group is growing quick!!! =)

message 131: by Ahri (new)

Ahri (arilee510) Hello. My name is Ari, I'm 29 years old and I live in Puerto Rico. I love reading, especially supernatural books.

message 132: by Dana (new)

Dana Crouch (Callaway) (bookknurd) | 101 comments Hi. My name is Dana. I thought this looked like an interesting spin on the typical book club, which I've never been really interested in because I can be picky about books. Seems like this will be perfect for me. Plus, I like seeing what other people are reading for the themes.

Marie-Claude aka MC | 91 comments Welcome to the group Emily! =)

Amara Tanith (aftanith) | 733 comments Hi and welcome, Emily! In addition to what Michelle said, the What We're Reading thread's first post also has links to the many on-site lists showcasing blue cover books. You're bound to find something! ;)

message 138: by Connie (new)

Connie G (connie_g) Hi, I'm Connie and I live in Connecticut. I'm married and am the mother of two adult daughters. I've always enjoyed reading, and read a lot of historical fiction, books set in other countries, and contemporary fiction. The reading by theme sounds like a fun idea.

Cyl (alohacyl) | 5 comments Hello Everyone! My name is Cyl (pronounced "sill") and I love to read. I am 59 years old and I am from Ohio. I have a daughter who enjoys reading, too. I enjoy a variety of books in such areas as: mysteries, historical, thrillers, science fiction/fantasy, and pararomances. I look forward to joining one of the challenges and sharing my books with you.

message 144: by Caterina (new)

Caterina hi i'm cathy... i'm 49, single mom of three children, avid reader and closet writer. i've never joined an actual book club because i tend to read books that aren't typical book club fare. a themed club is simply genius! sharing my selections and reading those from others can only broaden our thoughts, ideas, and imaginations. looking forward to the august theme and chatting with all of you.

message 148: by Jess (new)

Jess Cruz (jesscruz690) Hey everyone! My name is Jess and I'm 22, currently located in the Bronx, NY. Although, I do spend most of my time in Binghamton, NY, where I attend college. I usually don't get to read what I want while I'm away, so I'm making the most of my summer in terms of literature. My favorite author is Hemingway (I even named my typewriter after him). I love reading contemporary, Middle Eastern, and Golden Age fiction. But I'm looking to read more sci-fi and graphic novels. I'm always looking for new books to add to my to-read list, so I thought I'd join this group since I would be exposed to a wide range of opinions and novel suggestions. This is my first book club, by the way. So I can't wait to start reading with you guys and getting into the swing of things!
