Yes, Tess is one of my all time favorite classics. Read it over 40 years ago as an undergraduate in college. I'll keep your comments in mind Someoneyouknow.

HNR that or Ender's Game but hope to get to both before the year is out.

I've read the abridged version of it when I was a kid.

Rebekah, I read Three Cups of Deceit: How Greg Mortenson, Humanitarian Hero, Lost His Way in one day. Krakauer wrote it because he felt duped by Mortenson, formerly his friend and fellow mountain climber. Krakauer is a very good writer. Why scared?

I'm scared it will make a hero of mine fall and there just doesn't see to be enough heros lately. :(
Snow flower is similar in that it is about the Chinese culture of women but this is based in China in the narrative of a woman who endured footbinding as a sign of beauty.
