This book is very slow. 159 pages before Tatum actually lands at Iwo Jimo. I actually started to wonder if he would ever get to the war zone. Considering that Basilone died on D-Day at Iwo Jimo, his name seems to have been used as a way to sell this book since the author spent very little time with the Medal of Honor recipient.
