this is where i admit that i don't like to read books about dark stuff these days. there is enough bad stuff going on this world in real life and i want my books right now to be as low-stakes as fucking possible. which is why it was a miracle to me that this book about the saddest shit in the universe was somehow actually fun to read!! like, not "fun" fun but also....fun??
