As usual with Takeda and Liu, gorgeous artwork and a good story. In this one, adult twins Milly and Billy grapple with the complexities of dealing with their harsh immigrant mom. Mom pushes the twins to clean up the abandoned house next door. To the twins' surprise, Mom and the house have some connections, and Mom isn't quite who they thought she was. Well-plotted and well-written, as is the norm for Christie. I read this after watching Kenneth Branagh's A Haunting in Venice, which is purported to be loosely based on Christie's Hallowe'en Party. When I say loosely based, I mean very VERY loosely, in that the only similarities are that both include parties with apple-bobbing and, of course, Hercule Poirot.
