Evil Eye by Etaf Rum

Erin’s first review of the year

liked it
Low three stars. Very low. Definitely a compelling story and characters, but not very well done. The middle third (or half?) of the book is just the same thing over and over and the reader keeps waiting for something different to happen. But it’s more of essentially the same, page after page. Thus, by the time you get to the end, you’re just thankful it’s almost over.

Picked this up as a freebie discard from the library. It was pretty cute for chick lit. It dipped its toe in some headier things, which isn’t a bad thing…more realistic.
