The Keeper of Lost Things by Ruth Hogan

Theresa’s first review of the year

liked it
A quaint and intriguing premise for a story. Lost things represent lost dreams, lost relationships and lost doubts. I didn’t fully embrace Laura, the Keeper, but the ending knotted together all the loose threads satisfactorily.
It is the first story I have read where a character with Down Syndrome is depicted as a natural contributor to the plot.

it was ok

My own dear Nana was orphaned at the age of seven and lived in a convent in Belfast until she came to Canada at the age of thirteen around 1911. She was widowed at 35 with two children under five years of age. My dear Mother was born in T
