This is one of those books when the hero does the bare minimum and gets lauded as the best specimen of manhood ever. Authors need higher standards for men in order to write good heroes. Ability to cook is not earth shattering for a guy.

This plot is weak

There are so many Ethiopian pop culture references in this. I can barely decipher North American ones, but gah!
All pop culture should be eliminated from books imo.

If a guy I’m seeing leaves an engagement ring at my place that is for another woman and I found out he’s using me as a side piece, there is NO WAY I’m exerting any effort in getting him his ring back.

The title of this is sappy and trite but the concept and writing aren’t. Wonder if the author didn’t get to pick the title.

I really hate people pleaser, martyr heroines. I wish these books had content warnings regarding that. Hopefully she wakes up early and I don’t have to spend the whole book hoping she grows a backbone and puts her own needs first.

I remembered the main reason I rarely read rock/pop star romance, the cringey lyrics they always include.

This is really cute but I’d love it if the author didn’t try to force all the tropes and just let the story flow naturally. Why throw in fake dating for no reason? I wonder about authors of romcoms sometimes. It’s ok to just let a story be without contriving every part. This has enough to it to not force things we think romance readers need.

It’s so not normal for someone to hate a person they’ve never met, treat them like garbage just because. I’ve never met a person who acts like a dick to me on first meeting, it’s so hard to believe this as a premise.

I don’t usually like rockstar romance but this is a neat twist on it. (I knew what it was going in but wanted to try it)

Third act break ups are so dumb

She complains her last boyfriend never took her anywhere but all she does with this guy is screw at either of their places. How’s this better? Because he’s hot?
