[close] Starting at the famous Shinkyo Bridge, Nikko's Takinoo Path takes walkers up and around famous tourist sites like Toshogu Shrine and Futarasan Temple. Rather than heading into these often expensive and busy spots though, the route heads via other off-the-beaten-track shrines and temples, via a pristine forest course.

[close] Train stations in Tokyo can be confusing, not just for tourists, but for locals too. We have all got lost in the maze of shopping malls, department stores, tunnels and exits. They can be fun to explore though, just give yourself plenty of time so you don't go crazy! This is a 'only in Japan' travel experience for sure.

[close] Japan is full of amazing train stations. Today I visited Umi-Shibaura Station, in Kanagawa prefecture, which was voted one of the 100 Greatest Stations in Kanto. Unexplored by most foreign tourists, it’s been trending on Japanese TV, so I had to travel here. Known as ‘the station you can’t exit� or ‘the station passengers can’t leave�, as there is no access by car or foot for normal people. The JR station is meant to be used just by Toshiba employees, but its unique location and sights make it a fun little trip from Yokohama or Tokyo. More than a little bit inspired by train YouTuber @geofftech2, I hope you enjoy!

[close] Many people visit Hakone from Tokyo via the Odakyu Odawara Line and Hakone Tozan Line, but did you know that Odakyu has a 2-day pass for a much less touristy mountain area? Mount Oyama offers shrines and temples high up hiking paths, and makes for a perfect day trip or day hike from Tokyo.
