Nityananda Das Divine Union came out five years ago, I went on a retreat to Risikesh with some friends and we had to talk about what was our plan for the next five years.

I didn't think much about what I wanted or how I saw myself in five years, but talking with the persons in the workshop I decided that there was some things that I wanted to tell people, and it would be better to have it in print.

After the trip I wanted to start with the book, but many things happened and I ended up somewhere else and lost interest in writing, in almost everything... (there's more on this in the preface of Divine Union)
Nityananda Das Just sit and just keep my fingers on the keyboard, if I don't start writing about the chapter or article I had planned at the time of siting on my desk, I still write about something else that comes to mind.

Sometimes about another chapter, or even another book.
Nityananda Das The best thing that came to me, and I wasn't expecting, is that people, sometimes individuals that I wouldn't have had time to meet, read my articles or notes, and they thank me because it was something they wanted to know.

The satisfaction that others appreciate my writings, this is certainly the best thing about being a writer.
Nityananda Das I am an aspiring writer myself. Always think that whatever you have to tell, it is worth putting on paper. Write, and then write some more. Forget about editing or revising your writings.

Once you have a large folder with documents and notes, then you can sort it all out, see what matches where. And you'll discover that there are similar topics. There you have more material to use.

This method doesn't work for everybody, but my advise is to keep on writing.
Nityananda Das I love to read almost anything that grabs my attention, from short stories to massive novels. I wanted to write fantasy or science fiction since I could read, but my first book turned out to be neither.

Now I am working on a science fiction novel, it is something that already has been used, but I am approaching the subject from a different perspective. More about this book once I have finished the second draft and is on my editor's skillful hands.
Nityananda Das I sit in front of my laptop and think of a question, then I "answer" that question.

Usually my questions start with "Why does...." or "How can I...." and from there, the rest is very exciting.

Often after a read the article or chapter I wrote, I get ideas for more writing.
